Heritage Palms Golf Club
About
The mountains are close enough to touch at this Arthur Hills design. Heritage Palms measures 6,698 yards from the back tees.
Four lakes are featured on the course, which is very green for a desert design. Hills contrast the fairways against the mountains and the desert in the distance, but this is very much a resort type course.
The par 3s are particularly inventive. This isn't one of Hills' tougher courses. It offers average hackers the chance to have a largely anxiety-free round. As long as they don't get too carried away with club selection.
There are a number of dogleg holes that force you to think before firing away. Just hitting as far as you can is an easy path to trouble. It's the shot after the shot you're hitting that must be thought of.

Interesting desert layout.
I was paired with a couple of homeowners and another single. The locals were generous with their course knowledge and helped quite a bit. There are some blind shots and a verbal cue here and there goes a long way. Course is in fantastic shape. Greens were fast. They posted a green speed of 11 but I think that it was closer to 12 or 13. On about 12 or 13 the winds kicked in and by the 15th it was blowing steady at 25 mph with gusts to 40+. Play early if you want to avoid playing in a gale. My only criticism was no beverage cart. There was some very sparsely stocked vending in the bathroom on the front 9 but it wasn't accepting any bills so I was SOL for the whole round. On a busy Saturday they certainly could have made some extra $$ with some on course refreshments. Even having some snacks and drinks in the clubhouse would have been sufficient. Overall it is a nice track. Open enough to keep balls in play yet tricky enough to keep you on your toes.
If there is a shot gun Golf now should post that
I love this course but it took almost 2.5 hours to play at 1:00 pm I quit after 10 holes waiting on every shot - poor advertising- if there is a shotgun - you should post it - if it wa so missed it - but will not spend 120 bucks to play a 5/12 hour round !
First Time
First time playing course. Shot gun start. Course was in good shape. good value at $75.00. Would play again at that price.
Great experience
Great staff starting with the lady at the gate, server, golf cart jockey, and of course Terry in the pro shop, who got our tee time arranged. The starter was very helpful and friendly. All this and we hadn’t even hit the first ball. Superior course fantastic shape, fast greens. Best course we have played in the valley. Well done
Nice Course Friendly people
Very nice experience. Friendly staff and nice players in a quick early morning round. course in great shape.
Heritage Palms
Excellent conditions. Greens ran fast and true. Course runs through houses but fairways are wide enough to not be a problem. Practice facilities and clubhouse are great. Would play here again.
Fast greens
This course is a gem. Although a condo course the fairways are wide. The course layout is interesting and the greens were the fastest I’ve played this year. Once you get used to them they are quite fair.
Play this course if you get a chance!
GREAT DAY
VERY NICE COURSE-WIDE FAIRWAYS AND CONSISTENT GREENS
Exceptional in every way
Played on a Sunday morning with my wife and another couple. Course was in excellent shape, particularly the greens. We played in just over 4 hours. No waiting. I’ve played 5 rounds at various public courses in the area in the last 2 weeks and this was by far the best all around experience.
Greens were superb
Best golf course I have played in the Desert this season
Golf course was in great shape but the greens were immaculate
Very nice course
We have stayed in palm spring area for the past 14 years and not knowing how nice this course
Well maintain and green all over the place
Green very fast
Pristine
I very seldom write reviews but feel inclined. Heritage Palms is the most perfectly manicured golf course I have ever played on. The conditions were pristine. There was not one brown spot or blade of grass out of place on the entire course. When they overseed for the winter they do everything including the rough. So no dormant brown Bermuda anywhere this time of year. The green rolled true and were not super fast or too slow. The fairways were like the plushest carpet in the fancy living room you were never allowed in. The rough was lush and bountiful but not overly penalizing. I cannot stress enough just how well taken care of this course is. It is a semi private course which only posts tee times to the public after their members have chosen. So I am not sure how easy it is to get a tee time normally. I got an online tee time for $85 which is a steal. They could have easily charged twice that amount. I have played most of the higher end public courses in the Coachella Valley and this place's course conditions beat them all.
The course is not difficult with large landing areas off the tee's and receptive greens. The bunkers were perfect with plenty of light fluffy sand. The greens rolled beautifully about 10-11 on stimp. Tee boxes were gorgeous. Pace of play is strongly enforced at 4:15. We had an 8:00 am shotgun start and finished a couple of minutes before noon. Didn't wait on a single shot and never had anyone catch up to us.
I highly recommend this course if it is available over any other course in the valley if you have never played it. It is in absolutely phenomenal condition. It's not super difficult so enjoy the true beauty of the course and go low. You will not be disappointed.
A great time was had by all
There was a shotgun start which was ok. I played with strangers but we enjoyed each others company and all played about the same. The course was in very good shape but the sandtraps could use more sand,They were somewhat shallow. This is one of my favorite courses and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
Great Golf Course
The golf Course was in great shape, the greens were Rolling a bit fast but in great condition. Had a great round.
Heritage Palms well worth playing
Excellent condition and an interesting layout. Staff friendliness second to none.
Great condition
One of the best semi private courses in the area.
Always perfectly maintained and attended to.
Marshaled for pace of play most of the time.
More challenging than it appears....but fair for good shots. Greens are excellent.....bring your putting skills with you. Nice layout, no two holes are the same.
Good value overall. 4 T Boxes and Combo play on card....good variety choices for your game.
Perfection plain and simple
Ily
Put pristine conditions together with a great course layout that can test but not overwhelm any handicap golfer combine that with a freindly caring staff - great membership and you have Heritage palms— I am 30 year desert resident and ha e been lucky enough to have played many of the fine courses in our Coachella Valley - I don’t why but I never had the opportunity to play Heritage palms until this past summer when the rate was very reasonable . The first time I played it I was hooked - I played it 4 straight weeks in a row - I played it for the first time in the “season” and even at the 85 dollar rate I consider it one of the best bargain in the desert - I have always been paired with great members who welcome you with open arms - play it and call in love with immaculate conditions-the Best greens in the valley and conditions that would rival Augusta -play it for sure!
