Thistle Golf Club - Cameron Course

We have played thistle during each of our recent trips to Myrtle. The clubhouse is great and staff super friendly. There are 3 nines; Cameron (probably the best), Stewart (2nd best), McKay (decent but nothing special). The staff are really helpful and provide a top notch experience. Greens are very good, firm & fast with subtle break. Played Cameron/Stewart which is our preferred 18. Cameron is probably the best out there with plenty of water and a few gators. They have a smallish range but it is nice for warming up. The carts are nice and the GPS is helpful. Layout is fun and challenging. You probably won’t be disappointed. Fairways and tees a little lean but adequate. Like everywhere the snack bar closes at 3 so eat early or pack some snacks. 18 is a long par 3 on Stewart is tough but unique. I would prefer if they let us play Stewart/Cameron.

An amazing course, top tier course management and condition. Not quite worth the price but given the golf season peak cannot blame them.

Overall, my time at the Thistle Golf Club facility was stellar. Great conditions, layout, course amenities, and at a ‘decent’ value. Only issue I had was with the bag drop guys. First time playing at this facility and the bag drop guys couldn’t have made me feel less welcome. I had to let them know 3 separate times that I was there and ready for my tee time & they seemed to brush me off and only pay attention to who seemed like regulars at the facility. Then, I finally got tossed into a tee time that was about 20-30mins later than my actual tee time & on a course combination that I did not sign up for (really wanted to play Cameron). With all this aside, I will absolutely be coming back on my next trip to Myrtle Beach. The course played well to my playing style and I throughly enjoyed my time there after I finally got on the course.

Absolutely surreal experience! My husband and I are on vacation from Canada and we decided to treat ourselves to a more luxurious experience and Thistle did not disappoint! Although started off feeling shaky and nervous to be at such an incredible spot it didn’t take long to feel at home wishing we could come back again and again :) Course was in amazing shape - staff were phenomenal - grounds like we’ve never seen. And to top it off we were paired with the most lovely couple! Best golf experience yet! Spend the money and go to Thistle!

Decided to play due to recommendation from a buddy of mine. Was not disappointed. Course was in great shape. Staff really showed their appreciation for me being there and couldn’t be more proud of their course. Will definitely play again.

One of the nicest best kept courses I’ve played near Myrtle Beach.

Great layout and good pace. Probably a little pricey for he course but we enjoyed the play.

I haven’t played here in 10+ years and I liked it then. But wow this place is a real gem today. Conditions were fantastic. Layout was awesome. Played 18 holes in four hours. Got a good deal on GolfNow so everything was really wonderful today.

I bet this place will look fantastic in another month once the grass really starts to grow. It looks great now, once it greens up everywhere it’ll be really special.

We always try to play Thistle when we're in the Myrtle Beach area. Just the greatest and most gorgeous course. In great condition, too.

Fantastic golf course with a fun, challenging layout. It’s the first week of March and this course is in better shape than anything in my home area during peak season. Every single employee we interacted with had a pleasant demeanor, especially the guys at the bag drop. Super friendly and helpful.

Pacing was off for us us because we were stuck behind 3 foursomes and we’re just a twosome. Made the round take 5 hours, but it was nice just taking in the scenery while waiting: 2 gators and lots of water fowl made for some nice pictures.

Play this course if you can, especially if you can get a discount on GolfNow. Worth every penny and look forward to playing it again next trip.

Attentive staff. Solid pace of play. Course was in excellent condition. Multiple sets of tees for most skill levels. Would highly recommend
