Thistle Golf Club - Cameron Course

Greens were in great condition.

Fairways were very wide and forgiving.

Some blind shots, but mostly able to anticipate the next shot.

Not the cheapest deal around, but you’ll have to look hard to find one better. Played in 3.25 hours. Wish we had to wait more. Didn’t want to leave.

Beautiful entrance and clubhouse. Great service from the bag drop, pro shop, food service and cart girl. Very organized and well run. Course was in very good shape. The two nines we play were a challenging layout. Not sure I would pay the highest rate. We played after 1 to get the afternoon rate. It was extremely hot the day we played (August heat in NC). I would like to come back and play the Cameron nine, I would recommend a trip here.

Blown away by the hospitality when we arrived! Great time. We had no problems with pace as we were right now n schedule for our back nine. And those seats in the golf carts are the most comfortable seats we ever sat in at any golf carts! Will be back next year!

The course is in excellent condition. A really fun course to play.

It’s a really spectacular course. Wow. Perfect condition. Beautiful hole after beautiful hole. Challenging but doable from Blues. Clubhouse is like country club.

However- they have a weird botched set up that if you are the first out and finish your 9 earlier than 10, you need to wait for the 2nd 9 until 10. I get the first tee time where I go so that I can play at a normal pace and get back home to have a full day of work or hanging w fam. Waiting for an hour + between the 9 makes this a 6 or 7 hour day door to door and screws up the momentum after the 1st 9. Bottom line is you pay for 18 why should you have to wait an hour in the middle of a round.

They should offer a straight through rate and use one of their 9s for that, and a lower rate to wait an hour after 9.

Maybe they do it to max out on the # of groups and to survive as a club $$$ - however despite the amazing course I won’t be able to go back again until they fix this.

Had 1st tee time at 7:45 and was told play slow can’t play back 9 until 10am. Then at 10 they put a foursome out right in front of my twosome. Course is amazing and always is great shape but scheduling system is flawed.

Played the Stewart to Mackay route. Stewart had some interesting holes but it seemed fairly average to me. Mackay was a much more exciting 9 in my view although both gave a fair test. Course is was in as good of shape as expected in the summer heat and the beverage cart came frequently which was a plus with no water on the course or coolers in the cart. Overall, I think this experience was slightly overpriced for the hot summer days. I would pay $90 in prime season but in July it was a bit excessive all things considered.

The course was in great shape. Never disappointed.

Lots of water and green side bunkers.

Thistle is one of those gorgeous Linx golf venues that is truly an experience. The course is comprised of 3 x 9 nines, always in pristine condition, and nothing negative to say about any of them! Stewart has an intimidating but totally playable elevated 9th green, lots of fun.

We enjoy it...From the stately clubhouse that makes you feel like you're somewhere between a Vail Colorado ski lodge and an European escape, to the friendly staff and good food (even for grab and go), it's a wonderful day out. Definitely go and use Tee Time to save a bundle off the rate.

this is an excellent course immaculate tee ti green. On par with tobacco road, tpc wakefield, pinehurst number 4, river landing. Basicalky a private course letting you play for now until membership numbers increase. Only complaint got behind some members and ranger said he could not ask them to let play through.

The staff were extremely professional, although I did not feel like I was wanted on the premises by the men in the clubhouse nor the cart attendants. The beverage cart lady and the starter were extremely friendly and kind, somewhat making up for the poor treatment I received elsewhere at the facility. The course itself was in excellent condition, and the layout was very tough and enjoyable. Doubt I will go back, but it was a fun one-time play.

Took my two grandsons out for a round of golf at probably the most environmentally attractive course in the Ocean Isle area

First time playing this course at Sunset Beach NC. Came over from Holden and was so pleasantly surprised. This course is fantastic - top notch. The service is great and the course was not only in great (GREAT) shape) but also a fantastic design. If you are a local - the price is amazingly low. But this is well worth a trip. I have been to some fantastic course around the USA and this is up there.

Other than the check in/bag drop being a bit cumbersome, thoroughly enjoyed the course. Staff very friendly, course in fantastic condition, and pace of play outstanding. Best conditioned course I have played in MB area in a long time. I recommend highly.

Really enjoyed our round. The course is beautiful and is in good shape. Great effort is made to maintain the natural beauty of the area. Play was a little slow at times but picked up near the end of the round. The only real negative was the beverage service. The young lady was great but our beverages were not cold at all. This was disapppinting as it was a very hot day. In any case, go play Thistle.
