Wolf at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort
About
Forget everything you've heard about that gentler, kinder Pete Dye at Paiute. When you step onto the Wolf Course at the Las Vegas Paiute Resort, the legendary architect with the cold hacker heart returns. And then some. The newest of the three Paiute courses, comes in at a staggering 7,604 yards.
And it's an isolated 7,604 yards. You don't only get lost in your round here. You could almost literally get lost in the desert with a few wrong turns off the cart path. Drives that go flying off target deep into the desert areas are unlikely to found by another human ever. A rattlesnake might be keeping your Pro V1s company for the rest of their days. This is stunning scenery, capable of leaving the most cynical hacker open mouthed.
Paiute Wolf is just a far enough drive away from the Sin City hustle that it's likely the top, high-end course you can easily get on last minute in the Vegas valley. It also might be the best of them all.
Also known as Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort - Kwetoo-Unuv Course.

17th hole "island green" Paiute Wolf Course Photo submitted by RockinDoc on 10/05/2012
Best Value in Vegas
Course was in excellent condition, with some great holes laid out to challenge your game.
great value
Country club value, friendly cheerful staff, desert landscape make fora wonderful day in the park.
Course layout
Wonderful golf course in immaculate condition. That being said, extremely difficult. Played the black tees as a +2 handicap and got absolutely beat up. Why design a course with every par 4 over 420 yds up hill into the prevailing wind? Felt like I played 8 par 5's. Shot 73 with one of the best putting days of my life. I recommend moving up a box or two or this will be the longest golfing experience of your life.
Mountain view golf at it's best.
My wife and I played at the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort last week. We had one of our best golf experiences. The golf resort is about 20-25 minutes away from the Las Vegas strip, but well worth the drive. We played the Wolf and the Sun Mountain courses, and found both courses to be very lush and scenic. The wolf course may have been a little harder due to the layout and island green on the back nine. Because the resort has 3 different golf choices, pace of play was great, 3.5 hours each day. Our golf experience was on the level of a TPC –PGA course.
are you KIDDING!
This course is awesome!!.staff were great 3pm tee off and we finished at 7. Werent rushed cart girl came by as required given the heat. No marshalls bugging you. Fast greens. Excellent pairing for our 2 some. Id give this course a 10.
The gentleman at the pro shop was great. Its in the middle of nowhere but its sooooo worth the drive. Even better to get there early and enjoy a beer and some food.
Thanks guys if im ever back in vegas ill be back there... wolf courae was no overly challenging but who cares ita the deaert and its vegas and i was on vacation.
Another Great Round at Paiute
We've played this course for past several years in our annual trip to Vegas in May. Now have played all three of the courses here and can tell you that all are FANTASTIC! This is a first class golf facility and I would highly recommend to anyone traveling to Vegas. It is a little bit of a hike from the Strip but well worth the extra effort. Courses have always been in great condition. They also have a very nice restaurant/bar facility for before/after your round. My only complaint on this round was that pace of play was a bit slow. We had a threesome and were constantly waiting on almost every tee and fairway. Played in approx. 4:45. Course rangers were in short supply as we only saw one all afternoon and he said that we should play in the morning instead - not really the response that I was looking for. Anyway, still a great place to play and we'll be back.
Wonderful Golf Course
If you are in Las Vegas, this is a golf course to try; approximately 35 minutes north of the strip; worth the drive; I played the Wolf course; course was in excellent conditions, fairways were nice, tee boxes were in very good shape and the greens were true. I would play this course again when visiting Vegas
Beautiful course
Really loved playing this course. Great conditions. Will definitely return.
Wolf is Nice
I really enjoyed all the Paiute courses and this one is no exception. The layout and conditions were very good. The only bad thing was that the greens were recently punched. It was otherwise a treat to play at a reasonable price.
Great Desert Golf
I love playing the Paiute courses. I have now played all three courses and all have been fantastic. The staff is very helpful. The clubhouse and restaurant are very nice and the pro shop is well stocked. I played as a single paired with 3 other singles. Pace of play was 4 1/2 hours not that bad. Will play here again.
Great place!!! Great experience!!!
Another enjoyable experience!!! I will be back when we return to Vegas!!!
Nice course and in good shape (Wolf)
Played here with my wife and it was a fun course. Good challenge with some narrow fairways. Fairways and greens in good shape.
Oasis
Drive about 1/2 hour outside of LV and you'll see the oasis that is Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort. It is well maintained and the staff is wonderful. The rough is unforgiving and harsh (scarred two different clubs without even realizing there was rock under the rough grass). It was pretty windy when I played and the wind affected almost every hole. But still a great place to play, if you get a good deal.
5 1/2 hour round
5 1/2 hour round. Our group of 12 was told the cost would be $149.00 but when we got there they wanted $189.00. Screwed us out of $480.00. Staff was not very friendly at all. Rude at times and everybody had their hand our for tips. Course is a nice layout but not very pleasing to the eye unless you like looking at scrub for
5 1/2 hours.
Very forgiving but still challenging
Wind Storm was in the area, so the course played more challenging that I would expect typically, I seemed to be hitting into the wind all the time. Greens seemed a tad slow, the fairways were plush and the ball rolled a long way.
A great test
Enjoyed this course far more than any other I have played in the Vegas area. Dye courses are a treat. They often look a little harder than they actually play, though there will be some place where you just have to scratch your head and take your medicine. Every hole has visual interest.
I played in the afternoon and very few other golfers were out there--I finally caught up with a few groups on #15 and played in under 3 hours.
It was a windy-to-breezy afternoon. This is a windy area but I believe the course is set up to accommodate this reasonably well--for the most part the course is wide and playable (yes there's an island green but the island is HUGE).
I will absolutely visit Paiute again.
Paiute Wolf 3-27
This course is nice. Wide fairways and fair greens. Conditions are good for a Vegas Public course. The range is huge. Merchandise in the proshop is way overpriced, as expected. We are in the restaurant after our round and it was real good. Portions are large.
One 5 star, the price of stuff on the beverage cart is real good. Also the halfway house was pretty good.
Pauite Wolf Course
The course was in great condition. Haven't played it since if first opened but course lovely. A couple of tricky holes but love the hole 15 par 3 Island green. Its my favorite of all three Pauite courses. Tends to be windy whenever we play but never the less still a great track. Paid the Hot Deals price and definitely worth it.
Fine place to play with the right rater
Played here on a nice 78 degree day in March with little wind. The greens were a little bumpy but the speed was nice and they were consistent at least. Some blind tee shots that would be good to know playing a second time around. Even though we had little wind, I could see how it could be very challenging if the wind kicked up. Nice driving range and practice area.
Excellent
Pretty windy but other than that a great experience!!
