Wolf at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort
About
Forget everything you've heard about that gentler, kinder Pete Dye at Paiute. When you step onto the Wolf Course at the Las Vegas Paiute Resort, the legendary architect with the cold hacker heart returns. And then some. The newest of the three Paiute courses, comes in at a staggering 7,604 yards.
And it's an isolated 7,604 yards. You don't only get lost in your round here. You could almost literally get lost in the desert with a few wrong turns off the cart path. Drives that go flying off target deep into the desert areas are unlikely to found by another human ever. A rattlesnake might be keeping your Pro V1s company for the rest of their days. This is stunning scenery, capable of leaving the most cynical hacker open mouthed.
Paiute Wolf is just a far enough drive away from the Sin City hustle that it's likely the top, high-end course you can easily get on last minute in the Vegas valley. It also might be the best of them all.
Also known as Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort - Kwetoo-Unuv Course.

17th hole "island green" Paiute Wolf Course Photo submitted by RockinDoc on 10/05/2012
Don't miss this opportunity
Have played golf at some of the top courses in the world and I wouldn't miss the opportunity to play any of the Paiute courses. Outstanding staff from the minute you call for tee times to the day you drive in and finish your round. Entire staff went "above and beyond" for our group and am excited to return many more times. Tell them "Aquaman" sent you and you're sure to get a smile! What a place!
One of the best courses around for the $$
Had a great day of golf, the course was in great condition and the location was unbelievable. Greens were well maintained and tee boxes were perfect. Very challenging layout with tough pin positions.
Great value in Vegas
Great conditions. Was cold early so greens were HARD but it softened up by hole 4. First time on Wolf but played the others. Great value for a Dye course that's well maintained. Just a bit of a drive...
Beautiful golf course to play in Las Vegas
Wolf course of Paiute Golf Club is a beautiful and challenging course. Very good lay out, some water hazards, some elevation changes and Island putting green of 17th green are great to challenge. This is a champion course..
Pace of play
We were a foursome , because of a freeze all groups were delayed for 40 min. But that wasn't the worse part, it was pace of play. a 5:30 round in cold weather is ridiculous. At one time there were 4 groups on a non reachable par 5. There was a 2 hole gap between the group on the green and the next foursome in front of them. We called for a marshall, about 3 holes later one finally showed up and said something to the lead group or it would have been a 6 hour round. 3 courses and 2 marshals is a joke or they have no clue what their job is about. Never going back.
Out of nowhere is a great find
Greens and fairways are in excellent shape very forgiving design. The sand was good. Many of the fairways are wide and well defined by the desert. And the restaurant is excellent. The jalapeño pesto chicken wings is a must. The staff is great. Clubhouse is modern and beautiful with great restaurant views. Will be back to try the other courses.
We had our hands full with the Wolf!
Poor signage from the highway to take the proper turnoff. Very strong wind from the north when we played which made it an even tougher test. Course was in good condition however.
Great course and no wind
Great course at a great price. Wish I had time to play the other ones.
Good Facility
The Paiute offers a nice golf experience away from the strip. Great mountain views, good courses, and nice clubhouse. The only issue was with pace of play as the ranger made it very clear prior to teeing off that he kept things on point (with a little attitude by the way). However, the pace was slow.
Excellent Golf Experience
One of the best conditioned golf facilities available in Las Vegas period. With 54 holes available you can get out there on short notice. Multiple tee boxes to accommodate different skill levels and a lot of good shot values to test your entire bag. I recommend you at least play the Wolf and Snow tracks, you will want to come back again!
Awesome experience
Played it first time during my vacation and i'd go back to play the other 2 courses. The wolf course is probably among the top courses i've played!
Fun Layout Aimed at True Golfers
Played the Wolf in October and weather was gorgeous and no wind. The facility is a true treat for the serious golfer. Well marked course, GPS on carts, unlimited range balls, multiple practice ranges, nice layout, good food amenities. I liked that there was plenty of room to drive the ball, not once in the rocks. Greens didn't hold too well. But Overall very nice. my favorite in Vegas.
Jewel in the desert
The Paiute courses may be in the best shape of any of the Vegas courses, but if felt this week The Snow was nicer than The Wolf. Great courses so don't let the short drive out there discourage you, you will not be disappointed!!!!
A must play in Vegas
Paiute is a wonderful golf facility.
3 Pete Dye courses on one property, who could ask for more?
Course as always, was in great shape.
Snow Course
I bought the Wolf Course on Last Minute Golfer but course moved us to Snow Course. Disappointed, but still great time on a very good course.
Las Vegas Strip Detox at Paiute
At some point on the drive from the Las Vegas Strip north to Las Vegas Paiute, all development, the lights, the shops, the billboards, fade away. It's just you and the desert. Then, you catch a glimpse of a golf course on the right, and you're there in no time.
What a refreshing piece of Las Vegas, Paiute is. No slot machines or bright lights or residential development. Even the beer prices are cheap! ($2.50 PBRs, $3 domestics).
There is a small army of attentive staff everywhere you look (at the clubhouse and on the course), and the place couldn't be run smoother. There are two(!) driving ranges.
On to golf. The misconception is that the Wolf, as the newest and longest course of the three Pete Dye designs here, is the toughest. But that's hardly the case. Greens are larger and landing areas seem wider (at least, you get the sense you can swing away on most holes). It's certainly playable, but Dye, as he is wont to do, makes you earn your pars with your approach shots.
The Wolf is the #1 course currently on Golf Advisor. If you couldn't tell, I certainly endorse that. I also recommend that you big golf junkies stick around and play 36.
The course is in excellent condition.
Fairways, teeboxs and greens are the best. I will play next time I'm in Las Vegas. I will recommend to my friends.
great features and playabillaty
the course was in excellent shape, greens were good.
if the price is right I will play this course every week.
Wolf
Teed off at 9 on a Friday. The course started stacking up after a couple holes. At one point there was 4 groups on one hole. The marshalls came around when we were on hole 5 or 6 and let us know that they had sped the group up that was affecting pace of play. By the time we made the turn the pace of play was great! The marshalls did a fantastic job taking care of the issue. Aside from that issue the
Course was fantastic. From the guys at the bag drop to the starter to the cart girls everything else was 5 star. I can't wait to come back and play the course again along with the snow and sun course
Good value, great course
Nice to play desert golf, actually in the desert. No buildings around, and a bit of a drive. But, for me it was worth it.
