Wolf at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort
About
Forget everything you've heard about that gentler, kinder Pete Dye at Paiute. When you step onto the Wolf Course at the Las Vegas Paiute Resort, the legendary architect with the cold hacker heart returns. And then some. The newest of the three Paiute courses, comes in at a staggering 7,604 yards.
And it's an isolated 7,604 yards. You don't only get lost in your round here. You could almost literally get lost in the desert with a few wrong turns off the cart path. Drives that go flying off target deep into the desert areas are unlikely to found by another human ever. A rattlesnake might be keeping your Pro V1s company for the rest of their days. This is stunning scenery, capable of leaving the most cynical hacker open mouthed.
Paiute Wolf is just a far enough drive away from the Sin City hustle that it's likely the top, high-end course you can easily get on last minute in the Vegas valley. It also might be the best of them all.
Also known as Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort - Kwetoo-Unuv Course.

17th hole "island green" Paiute Wolf Course Photo submitted by RockinDoc on 10/05/2012
Layout and conditions were spectacular. Wildlife and Views are added bonus.
A perfect Day for me. Course layout suited my eye. A challenge for even the best golfers. Greens were fast and true. We played Wolf on Thursday and Sun on Saturday. I had my best round in a long time. Put Piute on the bucket list.
Windy Day on the Wolf
After playing the Snow course on Thursday, I was dying to get back out here and was able to make it happen Saturday afternoon. Paired up with 3 young bombers from Colorado, we attacked the Wolf from the Gold tees. Course is in incredible condition Tee to Green and the scenery with the mountain backdrop is unreal. Great closing holes starting with the island 15th. We played in extremely windy conditions that seemed almost normal to the locals. Be prepared to have to think your way through the entire round as we maybe had wind at our backs on 3 of the 18. Most holes were played in an extreme crosswind. The greens hold and putt true. Cannot ask for anything more. I would play any of these courses every day. GReat value for the $$$. Nice job Paiute Golf!
Great experience
Had a great time. Course was pristine , fast greens in great shape. Was paired with member that was able to point out trouble and greens break . Played wolf course, said it was less forgiving , seemed plenty forgiving to me. Played TPC Vegas, this seemed just a step ahead. Definitely worth the 25 min drive
Awesome course
In Vegas for the week and golfed 5 different courses during the week. We play Paiute every time we come to Vegas. It was our 1st time playing the Wolf Course after playing the Snow course our last couple of times in Vegas. Me and my wife got paired up with 2 other people and had a great time. Anyone who hasn't played one of the 3 courses at Paiute is missing out on a great experience.
Great but pace was mixed bag
Played on Tuesday @ 1:00. Real excited to play the top rated course at the resort. The course itself lived up to its reputation, although it wasn't as challenging as some make it out to be. We played from the blacks. Wished we could have played from the tips but they wouldn't let us. Still plenty long though. Fairways and greens were in great shape. A bit hard to read some of the breaks and I would have liked them a little faster.
The pace of play was mixed. We were a threesome of decent golfers and the starter tells us we should aim to play at a 2 hour pace for the front 9. We hit off the front tee to find a fivesome in front of us. We then proceeded to wait on just about every shot. The Marshall came by and we him asked whats up with the five in front of three. He says its all right, they are moving along. Yeah, right 2.5 hours later we finished 9 and the five finished thankfully. Then as we head to 10, the marshall has the gaul to say, "there is no one in front of you, you'll need to pick up the pace of play". We played the back in 1.5 hours.
Loved the course, soured by the pace. If you can't get on Wolf, I think Sun is not significantly less of an experience.
Must play!
I have payed all 3 Paiute courses and my favorite is the Wolf course. The course was in excellent condition when I played it. The fairways were some of the best I've ever played. I have played these courses many times and have never been disappointed.
Howlin' Good Time at Wolf
Got a screaming deal on Golf Now. Always wanted to play this course and was not disappointed. Course in great shape, memorable holes, pace of play excellent and Pete Dye design friendly for all skill levels if you play the right tees. Buffet brunch on Sunday worth an early arrival as well. Only downside was sour attitude of older gentleman working at bag drop and guy who checked us in at pro shop. But we'll definitely be back!
Best Vegas Value
Another fantastic round and experience at Paiute Golf Resort. Staff was friendly and helpful. Wolf course was in excellent shape. Greens were a bit sluggish compared to Snow and Sun, but not slow by any means. It is no doubt still the best value in all of Las Vegas--championship golf course in great shape for a reasonable rate.
Enjoyable Course
This course is in great condition in spite of the summer weather. The wide airways are in perfect condition and the greens were in even better condition. No ball marks at all. The rough seemed short but when you hit out of it, it is definitely thicker. The front 9 played easier than the back. A little more shot placement on the back nine. The island hole is a real treat. As the starter said at the beginning "if you go over the greens your in trouble". Truly a fun course to play and hope to come back.
Excellent condition
This course is long and in excellent shape. But for me the rough was too thick and rough for the average player. I am a wood hitter and found it frustrating to hit out of rough. Your club would get smothered in the thick taller rough. But if you are a better golfer and enjoy a challenge then this course is for you. I can't imagine paying close to $200 to play it. Gold now price round50 made it worth it. I enjoyed the experience but probably won't be back till my game improves.
Very nice course
Well maintained course, well worth the drive to get to this wonderful course.
The Paiute resort has three courses, this one considered the best, a must play if you´re in the area.
Excellent lay out
Best course in the city, enjoyable to play fairways is excellent
An oasis in the desert
No water restrictions here, and it was as green as any course within a 100 miles. Great conditions, we played at 630 a m to beat the heat and played a foursome in 3 hours 15 minutes. So good we asked to play another course the following day and were given 20 % off.
Great features
Course layout was amazing greens were perfect fairways were cushions to hit off
Beautiful Course and in Excellent Condition.
Paiute GC is maintained in an exemplary fashion. Fairways and Greens were exceptionally taken care of. It was very challenging playing the Wolf Course. Green fees was well worth it. Thanks
Great course
Always in tip top shape. Wind was blowing hard made course that much harder.
Pristine Course
Excellent course, in pristine condition. Everything form the bar to the actual course is in tip top shape. Also, on Sunday morning they had a $15 breakfast buffet with an omelette bar. Highly recommend this facility in general. On a side note, the Paiute nation has their own water supply so the course is super green with no blemishes. Will be back to play the sun and snow courses.
Nice Course
For the most part the Wolf course lived up to it's billing. The only downfall was that the greens were not as good as the rest of the course. Several greens had some patches that were less than smooth, #10 in particular. Other than that, the course was great.
A day in the dessert
Good day got paired up with a local and some guys from out of town. No one on the course so we played at a steady pace. Great weather slight breeze had the best round of my trip. Only down side is it is a 25-30 minute drive from the "Strip". Costly by taxi. I recommend Uber. Friendly people half the cost
