Wolf at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort
About
Forget everything you've heard about that gentler, kinder Pete Dye at Paiute. When you step onto the Wolf Course at the Las Vegas Paiute Resort, the legendary architect with the cold hacker heart returns. And then some. The newest of the three Paiute courses, comes in at a staggering 7,604 yards.
And it's an isolated 7,604 yards. You don't only get lost in your round here. You could almost literally get lost in the desert with a few wrong turns off the cart path. Drives that go flying off target deep into the desert areas are unlikely to found by another human ever. A rattlesnake might be keeping your Pro V1s company for the rest of their days. This is stunning scenery, capable of leaving the most cynical hacker open mouthed.
Paiute Wolf is just a far enough drive away from the Sin City hustle that it's likely the top, high-end course you can easily get on last minute in the Vegas valley. It also might be the best of them all.
Also known as Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort - Kwetoo-Unuv Course.

17th hole "island green" Paiute Wolf Course Photo submitted by RockinDoc on 10/05/2012
Always a great day at Paiute
Played a practice round for a golf channel am tour event and the course was perfect. Windy with soft fairways and hard fast greens. Played in less than 4 hours with 2 nice guys I joined up with. Always a challenge from tee to green and then you get to the hardest part, chipping and putting!
book it
Great practice facility, great course . Just live all 3 course here at paiute.
Excellent as ever!
The course was excellent as ever. The employees at Paiute "get it". While other courses are void of a good customer service attitude and seemingly could care less if you play there, Paiute employees are always friendly and concerned about your experience. Kudos to whoever is making this happen. I play many courses in Las Vegas and the difference is very noticeable. It's no wonder Paiute is my favorite course (any of the 3)!!
Great Course Great Conditions
We played the Wolf course and it was in excellent shape. It is a little bit out from town but an easy drive and well worth it. Course was in excellent shape for being the middle of summer I barely noticed there being any brown spots. Greens rolled good and a good speed. Would definitely go back. Great facility!
RGII
Extremely friendly staff from the waiter in the restaurant to the pro in the shop. Ranger was great and actually encouraged us to play through the group ahead and talked to them about the possibility. Only lost one ball I thought I shouldn't have lost...just right of the green and it disappeared. We played the Wolf course based on the recommendation of the pro because they thought while longer, easier for my wife. The pro confirmed at check-in that Wolf is the easiest of the three. My only knock, called the course and they wanted $69.00 per player and we reserved through golf now for a total (2 players including tax, fess and range) of $88.00. Well worth the drive off the strip and will return to play the other two.
Hidden gem
Prior to visiting I heard glowing reports about Las Vegas' Paiute Golf Resort. I elected to try the Wolf Course since it's the newest and supposedly most challenging. I played an afternoon round in mid-July but was blessed with overcast weather and cloud cover that lasted most of the round. I've heard wind can be a major nuisance on this course, but I only experienced light breezes. Course was in great shape and the track was both fun and challenging. This is definitely a long course, but even if you don't hit big off the tee you can get by. My playing partner usually tees off with his hybrid-3 and he didn't feel particularly disadvantaged given the layout. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone in Vegas. It's about a 30-minute drive north of the strip, but well worth it.
A gem!
I loved this course and definitely want to go back.
Definitely worth it
finally drove up to play paiute, and I'm glad I did. The course was practically empty at my 3pm tee time. Course conditions are the best in town, bar none. My only issue is with the cart gps. Ours was reading 10 yards short from that of my friends which made a tough course play a lot harder. Challenging approach shots if you want to get it close but once your on, the green are fair and roll pure. Highly recommended. Just being your own gps if you want to post a score.
Peaceful
This was the most peaceful course I have ever played. Very nice.
Awesome course
This is one of the most magnificent courses I've ever played. Wolf was amazing and tough. Sun was fun and challenging. Didn't play the Snow course. The only area where this facility needs improvement is the quality of the clubhouse. It could be spruced up a bit but the food and staff are great.
Top Notch
Absolutely outstanding course and facilities, Paiute Wolf is a must! Terrific value, worth every penny and then some.
Incredible Value Golf
Surprise when we had Paiute Wolf all to ourselves yesterday. This is the best time of year to play this course since it is off season and hot. What a fantastic track, beautifully maintained, and challenging. Wolf is always one of the places we play when in Las Vegas,
Very challenging
Wind, that is the key to your round here. I have played the other 2 courses here, and this was just as good as the others. It was blowing 20-35 mph, but that is the norm. Rough is very penalizing and greens were a challenge to read. Bring your best game to score well. Pricey (even with GolfNow) and slow are the only complaints. Fairways and greens in very good condition.
Wonderful maintenance and great view!
It was my second time playing in Paiute and first time in Wolf course. The course is well designed and maintained flawlessly. I would go back to Paiute to play again.
Great Sunday Afternoon Round of Golf
Excellent course if you're in the Las Vegas area. Short drive north of the city. I was a little concerned about it being too windy, but conditions ended up being great.
High nineties, breezy, but it never seemed to affect play too much. Maybe one club at times. Nice being out in the middle of nowhere, with such great views, playing on such a nice course.
We had no one in front, and no one pushing us. This is how golf should be played.
Rolled my first shot just of the back left side of the island green, but then stuck my next try. Made my day.
Thank you Paiute, your staff, and Golf Now for making it a excellent round of golf.
Dan
Great track and close enough to the strip
Middle of the desert paradise. Second time at this facility. Both times were great. Good food, nice course and excellent staff. It can pretty windy, but still a great time. Get away from the strip and enjoy this great facility!
Long and challenging course
My husband and I love this course. It is long and challenging, yet loads of fun. We golfed it in the afternoon on a very hot day and still had loads of enjoyment. We would highly recommend this course.
Great Course
The only thing to complain about was the ranger was oblivious to the pace of play.
Great course
Great golf course......great price for a perfectly manicured course. Its a little bit of a drive from the strip but well worth it.
