Bella Collina Golf Club
About
Nestled in the hills of Montverde, Bella Collina Golf Club overlooks not only the vineyards of Central Florida but also the sparkling blue waters of Lake Apopka and Lake Siena. The layout sprawls across more than 1,900 acres of rolling hills, incorporating lush forested valleys and sweeping dunes. Nick Faldo designed this lengthy championship course, which from its back tees stretches to over 7,500 yards. Faldo utilized the natural contours of the land to create a golf course that requires more than just skill or distance. Creative shot-making and careful strategy will be generously rewarded. The diverse terrain provides plenty of challenges as well as a unique and visually stunning backdrop. Bella Collina is known amongst locals as one of the most scenic golf courses in the area. The stunning views and beautiful setting are worth the round alone.

Excellent tract. Provides a stern test of your golfing abilities
The course was in excellent shape. A MUST PLAY course if you're ever in the Orlando area.
Greens were pristine but not as fast as I expected. Pace of play was extremely slow (which I was told was not normal) ... the ranger was nowhere to be found.
Very tough for average golfer
Nice course but very tough for the average golfer
A lot of hanging lies you never seem to get a flat lie
good greens very different from most Florida courses
The best clubhouse i have ever seen
Worth a go to see for yourself
Fabulous course
Elevation change , excellent greens ,and lots of sand really get your attention.staff was super friendly.overall a real attention-getter.
Outstanding clubhouse
Too much trick golf, the course is not fair. Good shots are penalized by the severe slopes. We watched good shots end up either lost or in difficult lies. We also saw poor shots end up in good position, how is this fair.
The staff was friendly and the service was good. The course needs more work and needs to be in better condition. There are better courses in the area for less costs.
I would go back for lunch or supper, but that would be it.
Golf at its finest
Pristine conditions and a challenging golf course with numerous sand bunkers. The bunkers are strategically placed near the greens and, unfortunately, where the majority of my drives ended up! The majority of the course slants either left or right which makes it difficult to keep the ball in play. A regular player on this course would know this and have an advantage over the first-time player. The greens have much undulation and make for tricky putting. Fast greens also challenge the player, making three-putts probable. The amenities are amazing in this country club setting. Highly recommended for an enjoyable round!!
nothing else like it in Florida!
Just go. You know you want to. Is it out of the way? Yes. Is the clubhouse area reminiscent of a theme park? Oh yes! Is it quirky? Yes, but in a good way.
Great course and clubhouse, but too much sand.
Beautiful course and club house. The course is beautiful with great vistas and very well kept. Fairways are pitched and greens roll every which way. My only criticism is that there are way too many sand traps. Everywhere and hard to get out of. I played with a scratch golfer who's score was destroyed by the ridiculous amount of sand.
Too difficult for the average golfer
I'm a 6 handicap and I shot 86 at Bella Collina. It took us 5+ hours to play, not because there were people in front of us or because the course was crowded, but simply because the course was too difficult. We were searching for a ball on just about every hole. Some of the tee shots are blind and the fairways are cut so tight that it is impossible to hold them. Furthermore, some holes (like 18) are almost unfair given the significant fairway slope. The only way to keep the ball in the fairway is to hit a draw/hook into the slope. The average player doesn't have that shot. Plus, the hole is blind, so there is no way to tell the hole calls for that kind of shot.
The clubhouse is surreal, but you aren't paying these rates for clubhouse access. I'll never play there again.
great place
rolling hills (including the greens!!!)... more sand than the beach... the most incredible ClubHouse I've ever seen!... The one negative was the 17th (TOTALLY blind shot into the green----even with an elongated flagstick, had no idea where the cup was(let alone the green)).... PLAY THIS COURSE BEFORE IT RETURNS TO "PRIVATE STATUS" AGAIN!!!!
very scenic
This course is well worth the long travel time to get there.
beautiful clubhouse complex. great experience
nice
this is a very nice course. lots of ups and downs . hilly lots of sand deep bunkers. If you have never played it are are 4-5 blind tee shots. this was my first time however the starter and others did in for me to always try to hit iit to the high side of the fairways. lots of undulation in both fairways and greens.
Great Links Golf Afire
The course was a Rolling Stones Links course- The Toughest I've met in Florida.
From each tee are Deep sand Bunkers in the fairways and protect all greens. Even with the Range finder, I shorted many approaches into the sand. I had blind sand shots to the greens, that rolled Too. Honestly, I had to tee it forward from Blue to white tees( Just what the starter informed me to do)
I can't wait for my shipment of golf balls to arrive, so i can play it again.
What an amazing clubhouse and golf course
We booked this course through golf now and this was the "big spend" course of our trip. It is not a typical flat Florida course. There are several elevated tees and greens and the course played very fast. The day we played, we just about got blown off the course (the wind was blowing 25-35 with gusts to 40).
I would have loved to play this golf course under better weather conditions, but it was by far was nicer than ANYTHING we played in Florida on our 4 day, 8 round trip in early March.
Everything about this course was top-notch, first class. The only nicer modern course I have played is Dove Mountain (just outside Tucson) a few years ago. To get into the course you have to go through a gated security entrance. While it is not easy to find, it is worth the 30 minute trip from the Orlando International airport area. Make sure you have updated your GPS to find the entrance.
If you only have time to play one round on your visit to Orlando I would strongly urge you to play this course. You will not be disappointed.
If this course is out of your price range we played Sanctuary Ridge the previous day which is about 4 miles away and is routed through the same type of hilly terrain. It was a very nice track for about half the price.
I
1st class all the way with this one
Unfortunately we played on a day where there was almost 50 mile an hour winds where the balls wouldn't stay in place on some of the greens which made the course that much more difficult because of BY FAR more sand traps than any course I have played. I have played all the Open course in Scotland and some great ones in US and this is easily the coolest, most beautiful clubhouse (or spanish village which is what it felt like) than any of them. Unbelievable detail from the buildings to the stone cart paths to the water fountains along the paths. Really awesome. The only bad thing is it can be confusing where you need to go when you get amonst the "village." Don't let that discourage you, someone will eventually lead the way for you. The employees were very nice. The course was fair with no water hazards. Don't play it if you don't like sand traps but if not a must play.
Incredible clubhousr, wonderful and informative staff, excellent amenities, real private club feel.
We came up the hill to the clubhouse and what a clubhouse it is. Complete with billiard room, sauna, wine room, cigar room, full bar and great locker room. The range is great with all of the unlimited balls you want. The course is hard but fair, some really spectacularhholes and the condition excellent. If you play the right tees, you will have a great day.
The most beautiful golf course ever playedThe clubhouse is stunning something out of ordinary
This is a lavish golf course with friendly staff
Beautiful golf layout
spectacular course
There are six sets of tees, something for everyone. We chose yardages we liked and played those tees. There are lots of bunkers but most are avoidable. There are several blind tee shots. Rolling hills add to the scenic views. The fairways and greens were all in excellent condition. The clubhouse alone is worth the price of admission. All staff members were friendly and accommodating.
extremely challenging.
This course would likely be a nightmare for your higher handicapped player. The course is located in the hilly part of central Florida. As many sand traps as you will find on any course. Many are 5 feet or deeper. Hard to find a level lie anywhere on the fairway. Some positives: several elevated tees; course conditions.
Now about number 9; the course needs to invite Sir Nick back to fix it. The course had to erect an erosion control fence to keep perfectly hit second shots from rolling into a dry retention area. Seriously, fix this hole.
Don't miss this opertunity
If in Orlando and you miss this facility, you missed golf!
Stunning views - extremely challenging
This is a picturesque course - but sand is everywhere, lots of blind hits and very narrow fairways! Still it was lots of fun!
