Bella Collina Golf Club
About
Nestled in the hills of Montverde, Bella Collina Golf Club overlooks not only the vineyards of Central Florida but also the sparkling blue waters of Lake Apopka and Lake Siena. The layout sprawls across more than 1,900 acres of rolling hills, incorporating lush forested valleys and sweeping dunes. Nick Faldo designed this lengthy championship course, which from its back tees stretches to over 7,500 yards. Faldo utilized the natural contours of the land to create a golf course that requires more than just skill or distance. Creative shot-making and careful strategy will be generously rewarded. The diverse terrain provides plenty of challenges as well as a unique and visually stunning backdrop. Bella Collina is known amongst locals as one of the most scenic golf courses in the area. The stunning views and beautiful setting are worth the round alone.

Beautiful facilities
Our friends enjoyed this course because it is different from most in Florida. It is very hilly, which makes it quite challenging for the high handicapper. The 19th hole is open for lunch and happy hour, and the staff is very friendly.
Challenging Course
The more often you play Bella Collina the better it gets! Course knowledge is a premium as rolling fairways and undulating greens encourage you to play to specific areas to achieve the best results.
stunning clubhouse! Very impressed with the locker rooms!
will definitely go back again. highly recommended for golf lovers. i got great value for my money due to last minute booking otherwise a bit pricey for the location.
if u like challenge, this is the one. hilly fairways and undulating green. bunkers are fairly deep.
only drawback, signs around the club house, entrance, exit need indications.
Super course and wind makes it even more difficult
Even though there are only about 85 sand bunkers (lol) they are very long and SEEM to be located just where you hit your ball, lol. The numerous well placed bunkers and sloped fairways, along with a few blind shots off of the tee box make this beautiful course a little hard to play. Despite the above this was our 3rd year to Orlando area and Bella Collina will remain on our golf list.
Unique course
Provides a golf experience that is hard to duplicate in central florida with the rolling fairways and elevation changes compared to most courses in the area. Also the club house is what is expected only in high end private clubs.
As Good As It Gets
We have played a lot of golf over the past month but as a package this was far and away the best. Staff ultra friendly. Changing rooms, wow, steam room, pool table, bar, armchairs, totally unreal. The course as in fantastic condition and at 6,700 a stern test. Minor niggle, no GPS in cart or map by tee and distance markers hard to locate. Bar was open on return, as was pro shop and restaurant. All in all wonderful.
Great but tough
According to the course staff the developers of Bella Collina asked Sir Nick Faldo to design them a tough course. Be careful what you ask for! Tough it is, and how. Built on the slopes of a hill around the incderible mock-Tuscan clubhouse, there are many traps and difficulties, including huge deep bunkers with not enough rakes in them to encourage players to take care of footprints etc. Raking a bunker could easily take five minutes or more if you have to walk across 25 yards of sand to get a rake and then smooth over the footprints you made doing it!
On the lovely fairways there are sideways slopes to take your ball into untidy, weed-filled rough so you never see it again, particularly when you're hitting one of the many blind shots.
There's no let-up when you get to the greens, either. They're in great condition but sloped, some severely, with very fast surfaces.
To be honest, it was a bit of a slog, and an offline shot from the tee could mean your next shot is from a sandy, weedy area playing to a green or fairway 30 feet above your head over some deep bunkers you're not sure the position of.
The clubhouse is something to see, though!
Wow Wow Wow
Found this course on golf now and I am glad I did.
Do not pass up a chance to play this course.
Thanks to other reviews we took the time to drive to the corners to see where to drive your ball. Some blind shots and no maps.
I will be back again.
Scenic, Pristine Condition, Blind Fairways, Lots of Bunkers
Very Scenic Course, Very Hilly with views of empty lots, mansions and lakes. The fairways and almost all of the greens are in Pristine Condition, A lot of the fairways are Blind Fairways meaning you do not know where the 2nd shot is going, Lots of Bunkers - and I mean a lot of bunkers. As many as I've ever seen on any course, and I've played golf in Mexico! Drawbacks: Pricey $75-$125 per round or more and far away from the majority of Orlando. Also they do not have GPS or even a map on the scorecard, very surprising for a round of golf in that range! One other cool thing is that you can play the rest of the day after your round for $25 additional.
Major league golf course
We played here last year and loved it. We came back and loved it even more. The clubhouse is an experience in itself. Friendliest staff we have come across, and the course is tremendous. There is nothing tricky here, you just have to hit good shots and keep it away from the massive bunkers! We had a great day.
Great views, wonderful facilities and great layout
This course is a unique for Florida in that you have elevations that you do not normally see. Many uphill and downhill shots but the course is very playable from your choice of distances. I played it at 6500 yards which made it very enjoyable. The staff was extremely friendly and made the day a true pleasure. We come down every year on a golf trip and this course will stay on our list of courses to play again next year.
Great day of golf
A very unique course in Florida. An awesome place and a great day
Spectacular course with lots of sand and uneven lies
Course and facilities are superb, but was rather challenging
for some of the group especially due to no course diagrams
making desired shot locations unknown.
Top 3 favorite courses.
I always have a great experience here. The clubhouse is worth the greens fees by itself. Great amenities an great golf!
We loved it out there
Wonderful course!! Beautiful scenery and course was in great condition, I would make the drive from Orlando anytime to play out there! Everyone needs to see and experience this one of a kind clubhouse!!! 5 star rating!!!
Tough course, but a fun one!
If I could address this review to the course designer, I'd begin with this:
"Dear Sir Nick Faldo: The Bahamas called, and they want some of their sand back."
Bella Collina presented a real challenge to this 19 handicapper. But not in a bad way. I expect to spray a drive or a 3-iron now and then, and when I did, I paid the price. Tee to green accuracy on this course is key. Fire a shot even a bit off-line and you'll wind up in one of Sir Nick's many, many, many bunkers. I estimate that I played about 25% of my non-putt strokes from the sand.
Still, the course wasn't unfair. I could see the bunkers, I just could not stay out of them because they are there to test a player and obviously I and my 19 handicap were not always up to the task. At any rate, it gave me a great opportunity to work on my bunker play, especially long bunker shots, which have been a longtime weakness of my game. This course actually helped me improve that aspect of my play.
I live in Orlando and have the chance to play our many fine courses on occasion. I have to say that my first trip to Bella Collina was an enjoyable one, and I'll certainly return.
PROS:
- Absolutely gorgeous and well appointed clubhouse facilities.
- Thoroughly attentive and courteous staff, without pretension.
- Greens were firm, fast, and occasionally wildly undulating, but rolled true.
- Excellent course maintenance overall.
- Overall course design (e.g. scenic views from the elevated tees, incorporation of the natural slope of the landscape, general visual experience) was very pleasing, especially in central Florida where course design is fairly flat and cookie-cutter.
CONS:
- No halfway house at the turn to grab a quick bite. We went into the clubhouse and got a tasty sandwich, but it would be nice to just get a hotdog and a beer and be on your way faster, before you lose your rhythm.
- Holes # 9 and # 18 (these especially, but there area few others...) require blind shots off the tee that you think you hit spot-on but wind up in a hazard because of a slope in the fairway landing area that you cannot perceive from the tee. Local knowledge of the course definitely helps here, and I'll be better prepared for next time, but for rookies to the layout, beware!
Overall, a great layout and I will be back! Definitely recommend to any and all players of moderate or better skill levels. If anything, the scenery is enough to make for a wonderful day.
SUPER COURSE
GREAT COURSE
BEST CLUB HOUSE EVER SEEN
GREAT DEAL ON GOLF NOW
MANY BLIND SHOT
One of a kind views
I have played Bella Collina a few times. I have played the course when it was in better condition however, I would still rank it up there with the better maintained courses in Central Florida. The best club house by far. Food was excellent.
Beautiful course
Great course with a nice staff! The practice range is great too.
Bella Collina NI
The course had very poor yardage markers and could not be found on SkyCaddie marking it very difficult to hit challenging greens. Staff is great, food is super, course management needs improvement. Too many other great courses around for the same money.
