Journey at Pechanga was built on the ancestral land of the Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians. The land is also home to "The Great Oak," one of the largest natural growing, indigenous coastal, live oak trees in the U.S. It is estimated to be anywhere from 850 to 1,500 years old. The golf course was carefully carved from the rolling hills that stretch Pechanga Creek to the surrounding mountains. Great care was taken in creating the course in order to preserve the beautiful land that has been home to the Pechanga Tribe for countless generations. Mature California oaks frame most of the holes and the dramatic elevations provide breathtaking views of Temecula Valley. The challenging layout will reward accurate shot-making but will punish any errant shots.

Played Pechanga for maybe the 20th time yesterday & shot 69 from the blues. My best round in over 5 years. Teed off from the tips on 17 which is possibly the best par 3 from that tee west of the Mississippi River. This is easily one of the top 3 SoCal San Diego (Torrey Pines & Madaris the other two). If you are traveling to the area, put this course on your schedule

Great Course, but Unprepared Staffing for the Heat

The course conditions and layout are great. Is it worth the typical $200+ fee; NO. But, if you can catch a Hot Deal, it is well worth it.

The temperature soared to 104 degrees when I played, and there were no services available on the course. The turn stand was closed, and there was no beverage cart service. This is a major staffing failure that should have been remedied.

Amazing Course

It’s rare you pay $200 for a round and fee like you got a deal. Breathtaking views with a fun and challenging layout. Greens were in good shape but not super fast, which was fine by me. Staff super friendly and amenities were top notch. If you are in the area its a must play.
