About
The Navy Golf Course Seal Beach is a 27-hole facility that includes the championship Destroyer Course and the nine-hole executive Cruiser Course. The 6,780-yard Destroyer Course presents a challenge even for low handicappers with a slew of hazards coming into play throughout. The small greens have challenging slopes ranging from subtle breaks to dramatic drop-offs. To make them even tougher, you'll find strategically placed bunkers lurking along the edges. The tricky doglegs, which are mostly par 4s, will force you to think carefully about your club selection, and to top it all off, water makes an appearance on almost every hole. It's a long golf course that feels even longer due to the rolling terrain, but it is more forgiving than it seems with long, wide fairways that won't penalize you for being slightly errant.

Challenging Greens
Course is what might expect for the money, nothing really bad nor really exciting. Decent distances and a bit unusual with front par 37 and back 35. Nice to have gps on carts. Greens large and undulating, two putt not a certainty. Some reason all the par 3s really slowed down play, usually three groups on each. Have had lots of rain and many soft areas. Overalll hats off to the maintenance staff, course was in good shape and there are just some places they can’t get a mower.
Great course
This was a great course. I was able to get a nice last minute deal and even got to play by myself without needing to join a group. Very relaxing and pace of play was also great. Only very small complaint was at hole 9 there was a large group of young kids hanging out right on the cart path so I had to sit for about 5-7 minutes until they dispersed (at hole 9 there is no way to go around someone especially bc they were also on the hill if I were to try to go around). I never said anything bc it seemed like they were with their “coach” who also I believe worked there. Wasn’t a huge deal. Just thought maybe we can also teach these students etiquette when blocking the cart path :).
Love this place the greens are challenging in the layout is really nice
I love this place! I definitely will come back and play anytime, the course in really good shape and the pace was moving well .
Navy destroyer course
The course was in very good shape the rate of play, a bit slow all in all it was a very good experience
Excellent greens
Prior to this round, played the course nearly a year ago and the greens were in horrible condition. Literally, unplayable with vast amounts dug out and sand-filled.
What a difference a year makes. The greens are in excellent condition running fast and smooth. The speed of the greens making for challenging short game recoveries. Kudos to the course superintendent/greens keeper for the amazing turnaround.
