Beautiful Course - Play if you get the chance.

It was a hot June day (in the 90s) -- apparently "maintenance" was done before we teed off so there was no group in front of us and we never had anyone behind us. Therefore pace of play was awesome.

The Walker course is beautiful and it was in excellent condition - no bare spots anywhere on the course. Also, it was well marked so you never were confused as to where the next tee was located. There were rest rooms on the course.

The tips from the pro shop attendant were spot on:

(1) There is less break on the greens than you see

(2) On many holes, missing right is better. This is especially good advice on Hole #1, where the creek runs along the left side (but you can see it from the tees).

My Tip: The greens are very tricky because they are fast (at least the day we played good approach shots rolled past the hole and putts you felt you barely hit, rolled on and on.) And there may be less break as the putt heads to the hole but on the edge of the holes, some seemed to have a break or tilt that no one in our group could read and putts rolled the edge (maybe it was just were some of the holes were cut that day).

The signature hole (17) did not disappoint -- fun to play, birdie chance. And, a pretty view of the lake. But I will say that there are many beautiful holes on the course.

This was the first time playing the course. After playing you really want to come back (with your new course knowledge) to see how low you can go.

Only really one negative about the overall experience: For women, the Pro Shop clothing options were extremely limited. Very disappointing. For example, the men's clothing purchase options included a pair of shorts with tiger paws all over them. Why not have something like that for women in a skort? You are missing the opportunity to sell to women golfers.

Overall, one of the best courses I have played in South Carolina. Definitely play if you get the chance.

Impressive facility

This was my first time playing Walker, and it certainly lived up to it’s reputation. The practice facilities are top notch, and the course itself is quite pleasing to the eye. My only marginal complaint would be my surprise at the condition of the greens; I would have thought being so close to the lake they would not have been as “crunchy” as they were. Granted our tee time was in the early afternoon and it was a warm day, but they still seemed rather dried out, which made them even faster than what I would assume they normally are. As I said though this is a minor issue, and it certainly won’t stop me from returning hopefully in the near future.

Great course

Awesome golf course, my only complaint is that we paid $42 each on Golfnow and then we’re charged again at the course! Great course, but $90 for a round is a bit steep for Seneca, SC.

Excellent Course

The Walker Course has everything us golfers enjoy... Great Greens, Fairways, Tee Boxes & Bunkers. Top it off with some Beautiful Views around Lake Hartwell up to the Blue Ridge Mtns. It’s got it all. Course is Challenging and Fair. Green roll true and breaks can be subtly deceptive. An enjoyable Challenge. Can’t wait to return!

Beautiful course

Highly recommend The Walker course. Great condition. Challenging greens. Nice people. Convenient to get there. It's a long walk so we rode.

The perfect day

The course was in great shape from tee to green. 16, 17, & 18 gave you great views of lake Hartwell. The greens rolled true with little to no divot marks. The fairways were great and didn't have any bald spots. The rough doesn't present a problem. The tee boxes weren't beat up or hard. Some holes had elevation changes but not much. The best part was I arrived after a tournament and had the course to myself. 2hr. 45min. round. I'll definitely be back.

Great track

Really loved the golf course especially the back nine which was mostly on lake Hartwell.

The greens were nice but just a little slow I think because of the previous nights rain they did not cut them that morning. I’m sure if they have been cut that day they would have been great. I’ll be back for more
