The mountains are close enough to touch at this Arthur Hills design. Heritage Palms measures 6,698 yards from the back tees.

Four lakes are featured on the course, which is very green for a desert design. Hills contrast the fairways against the mountains and the desert in the distance, but this is very much a resort type course.

The par 3s are particularly inventive. This isn't one of Hills' tougher courses. It offers average hackers the chance to have a largely anxiety-free round. As long as they don't get too carried away with club selection.

There are a number of dogleg holes that force you to think before firing away. Just hitting as far as you can is an easy path to trouble. It's the shot after the shot you're hitting that must be thought of.

Great course

I played numerous courses in the Palm Springs area, heritage was one of the last ones that I played, I wish that I had discovered it sooner cause I would have played it more. Greens weren’t not perfect but good, all other course conditions were great. Of the none private clubs I played my top three were the #1, Classic club #2, Big Rock club #3 Heritage Palms.

Customer service lacking but course in great shape

Frost delay and was never called. Others in my group were called. Kept letting members who just walked up and wanted to play ahead of us. Course in very good shape just wish I had gotten a discount since I paid for 18 holes and didn’t get to finish.

Course conditions were excellent. The greens and fairways are in perfect shape. Lots of room off the tee but approach shots are tricky with bunkering and greens with lots of slope and subtle breaks. The driving range, pro shop and restaurant are up there with any high end golf resort. Will definitely play again.
