Snow Mountain at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort

About
There are three championship courses at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort, all of which were designed by Pete Dye. Snow Mountain is the original course, joined by Sun Mountain, which is considered the easiest of the three, and Wolf is the newest and most challenging.
At over 7,600 yards, Wolf is also the longest course in Nevada but Snow Mountain is quite lengthy as well at 7,146 yards. Dye incorporated his signature railroad-tie bunkers and water comes into play on seven holes. This risk-reward layout is known for having the best par-3s at the resort. One of these is the stunning 16th hole with its panoramic view of Sheep Mountain. It requires a long carry over water but the bailout area to the right provides a relatively easy up and down and the greenside bunkers don't usually come into play.
Also known as Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort - Nu-Wav-Kaiv Course.

Bring your Knockdown shots!
This has to be one of the friendliest Dye Course I've played and the weather was perfect when We started but dark clouds came from the north and although we did not get rained on, the winds picked up to 30mph and had to adapt to hitting low shots to advance the ball, Nice dry fairways and got a ton of roll downwind, Greens were challenging putting in the wind.. Overall POP was 4 hrs and we had a lot of fun. Thank You Paiute Tribe.
Superb
Best of the best! Immaculate playing conditions, maintenance is incredible, Superintendent and His staff should all be given a raise.
Beautiful
Everything was wonderful. All amenities are top notch. Only complaint was the wind...
World Class
This place is a world class golf destination with a fabulous clubhouse and high quality dining. The 3 courses here will challenge golfers of all skill levels with great layouts and pristine course conditions. I wish I could play here all the time and cherish it each time I return.
Great course!
We really like this course. The Marshall could have been a bit friendlier. Drink cart service could have been more available. We would play this course again.
Snow Mountain
It was a beautiful day. This course was well worth the money. I've never been disappointed when I come out here. The only down side was the pro shop closed at 4pm. So if you plan on spending money there get there early.
When in LV, Play Paiute!
When in LV, play Paiute. Worth the drive to the Northwest side. Played the Snow course. Looking forward to getting to Sun and Wolf. Conditions are excellent. Rough is lush. Greens are great. Fairways and tee boxes are top notch. Carts with GPS. Pace wasn’t the best. 4:50 for 18. So wasn’t the quickest. But the views are spectaculars. Wind always blows out there. Even on a no windy day. Finishing holes are brute beauties! Clubhouse amenities and practice facilities are top notch. If you’re in Las Vegas and looking for golf, play Paiute.
Snow Mountain - Great Course
I played on a very windy day and still enjoyed the round. The course is in excellent condition. The green are Poa and don't break much. Love the layout of the course. Par 3's are really tough. Water on number of holes. Would love to play on a calm day.
Superb Splurge
Excellent course but pricey. Great view, almost distracting, in a good way. Treated like royalty by good natured hosts. We were blessed by unusual low winds.
Windy
Make sure you check the weather. Course was amazing but don’t rely on the weather channel. It said 20 mph winds, not even close. It was consistently over 30 and would gust probably up to 40. Cart guy asked how the round was and we mentioned the wind. He said it happens from time to time don’t trust the weather channel. The pace of play was very slow I think the weather played a factor. We played in a twosome, teed off at 12:40 and didn’t get done till 5:10, 4.5 hours without stopping at the turn. We hit the 19th hole to get some food before heading out and the kitchen was already closed…at 5 o’clock.
Amazing course I would play here again. Just double check the weather and bring my own snacks if it’s a later round.
Paiute is the best. Just not sure how the slope is 122 from the Championship tees
This is an accessible Pete Dye course in perfect condition. Great practice facilities and clubhouse as well. Even the food was good. Easy 5 stars. If I was a local paying locals rates I would be at Paiute weekly.
I just have no idea how the slope rating is 122 from the Championship tees. This essentially means thats it's an easier course than some wide open, benign city run public courses that I've played. While this is not a difficult course, it's not a pushover. Wind is generally always a nuisance, the rough is thick and takes a real hack to get out of, water very much comes into play on like six holes, bunkers are perfectly placed in the fairways, and while the fairways are somewhat generous, Pete Dye does that Pete Dye thing and makes the landing areas look smaller from the tee box. And if you don't have a rock club good luck hitting out of the in-play desert wasteland areas. In short, if you don't play here often this place will not play easier than your local crappy muni.
But yeah, great course, great facility... weird slope/rating metrics.
Snow Mtn course
Beautiful setting, very well maintained, courteous and very friendly staff
Bealutiful coursse
The only complaint was the day we played it was very windy.
Would gladly play again.
