Wolf at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort
About
Forget everything you've heard about that gentler, kinder Pete Dye at Paiute. When you step onto the Wolf Course at the Las Vegas Paiute Resort, the legendary architect with the cold hacker heart returns. And then some. The newest of the three Paiute courses, comes in at a staggering 7,604 yards.
And it's an isolated 7,604 yards. You don't only get lost in your round here. You could almost literally get lost in the desert with a few wrong turns off the cart path. Drives that go flying off target deep into the desert areas are unlikely to found by another human ever. A rattlesnake might be keeping your Pro V1s company for the rest of their days. This is stunning scenery, capable of leaving the most cynical hacker open mouthed.
Paiute Wolf is just a far enough drive away from the Sin City hustle that it's likely the top, high-end course you can easily get on last minute in the Vegas valley. It also might be the best of them all.
Also known as Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort - Kwetoo-Unuv Course.

17th hole "island green" Paiute Wolf Course Photo submitted by RockinDoc on 10/05/2012
excellent course for Vegas golf plans. Great service and condition
Setting Sun
Overall the Wolf course didn't disappoint. It's best to book a tee time prior to 12:30 pm. The mountains to the west block out the setting sun MUCH earlier than usual, making the last few holes difficult if not impossible to finish. The 15th island green is a must get to...
Worth the Trip Out of Vegas
Although a cold, windy day, we enjoyed both the course and scenery. Each fairway is isolated so you feel as if you are the only golfers out there. Holes have tremendous variety with both sand and water.
Wolf has an island green while other holes had water beside the fairway or in front of the green.
Greens were fast and the fairways pristine.
Worth the Drive
As Nike says... Just Do It!!
Vistas were beautiful and the greens were true and held.
It can get crazy windy out there but what a fun challenge!
Testing but fair.
Booked Paiute Wolf after reading the GN reviews and a good Hot Deal rate.
Despite the very cold and very windy conditions both my wife and I really enjoyed the course and finished the round with the same ball we started with. I played off the Yellows tees, around 6400yds which was fair given the windy conditions. Fairways are reasonably generous but not silly wide so you still need to hit good shots to have a chance of hitting the greens in regulation. My wife played the Reds but switched to Whites on the short holes as she felt the Reds were a bit too friendly.
Greens were tricky, fast and slopey and the wind made them even trickier!, pace of play was good on a busy day with our round taking just a tad over 4 hours.
Pre round we enjoyed a very good value breakfast buffet (only available at the weekends I believe). Pro and all the bag drop staff were very friendly and helpful and the starter shuffled things around to ensure we got off on time.
Overall it was certainly worth the 40 min drive out of Las Vegas to play the course and if we had time we would probably play here again or even try one of the two other courses at the Resort.
Awesome golf destination
Conditions were great considering the August heat. Great and friendly staff from the time I dropped off my golf bag until I completed the round. Facilities are top notch. Played the Wolf course and can't wait to play Sun Mountain course next week.
Excellent Course
Challenging course in excellent condition. Definitely recommend.
Beautiful setting
Played 36 holes on wolf then sun mountain. Course .played from the tips wolf was very long and fun ..high elevation did good job of offsetting the length. Immaculate conditions though the greens were rock hard..sun course greens were much more receptive to shots..great par 4s
Wolf
First time playing the wolf course. Had previously played snow and sun. starter and marshal very friendly. course in great shape. Greens running very smoothly. Enjoyable day in windy col conditions.
Overall really good.
Played the wolf course for the second time. Great layout and in tremendous condition! As expected the wind was up and fierce at times. I have never played this course in calm conditions. They built this facility in a wind tunnel! In my opinion this place is one of the best values in Vegas but it's a long way out and always windy if not for those 2 things I would rate it number one for golf in Vegas.
Chilly day but great experience with tricky holes on back nine
Fun course with tricky holes on back nine. Course in great shape. Got a little backed up due to the island green, but other than that pace of play was fine.
bryan
great course (wolf) pace of play im afternoon was a little slow however, but greens were fast and fairways well maintained
Golfing in Las Vegas for the 1st Time
I played the Wolf Course and it was an excellent experience. The course was in outstanding condition and the staff service was great! What I found most enjoyable was the natural views I experienced as I played 18 holes. I have only been playing golf for 16 months and many times it is about the experience for me as I work to improve my game. I will definitely be playing the other two courses before I return home.
superb conditions
Tee boxes, fairways and greens were lush. Greens were very consistent and smooth. Speed above average. Perfect weather with little wind made the fairways seem very generous. Not as difficult as the Wolf course but conditions were equally as nice. Staff was friendly and accommodating, with the exception of cart staff supervisor? His confrontational attitude prior to our tee time almost got his attitude adjusted
Wolf course was a blast!
My wife and I played the Wolf Course and had a great time. We were paired up with two guys from Orlando and they couldn't have been more fun to play with. The course was in very good shape and everything I remembered from playing a few years ago. This is my favorite course at Paiute, my wife liked Sun Mountain a little better.
The staff was great, starting with bag drop off, to the pro shop staff, starters (minus Bruce- just joking Bruce, he was very nice and offered a bit of advice for the greens), rangers, beverage cart, cart return personal were very polite and helpful. The club storage feature was great, we played two more days of golf at Paiute and left our clubs so we didn't have to take them back to the hotel room with us.
See you in 2017!
MIGHT BE THE BEST COURSE YOU'LL EVER PLAY
I've played a lot of courses in many countries, some expensive and some cheap. This course tops just about all of them. Lush, thick fairways, and undulating greens. Tee to green, EXCELLENT..Staff, very friendly, courteous, and generally willing to help make your experience noteworthy. My only gripe was I would've liked to see the greens rolled, and cut to speed them up a bit, very minor. The scenery was stunning, with 360* mountain vistas. A must play if you are in the area!!
Well done
Superb pro shop, awesome service, great course challenging for all levels, but playable for all levels. You can'turn play this course without marveling at the beauty and design.
