Wolf at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort
About
Forget everything you've heard about that gentler, kinder Pete Dye at Paiute. When you step onto the Wolf Course at the Las Vegas Paiute Resort, the legendary architect with the cold hacker heart returns. And then some. The newest of the three Paiute courses, comes in at a staggering 7,604 yards.
And it's an isolated 7,604 yards. You don't only get lost in your round here. You could almost literally get lost in the desert with a few wrong turns off the cart path. Drives that go flying off target deep into the desert areas are unlikely to found by another human ever. A rattlesnake might be keeping your Pro V1s company for the rest of their days. This is stunning scenery, capable of leaving the most cynical hacker open mouthed.
Paiute Wolf is just a far enough drive away from the Sin City hustle that it's likely the top, high-end course you can easily get on last minute in the Vegas valley. It also might be the best of them all.
Also known as Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort - Kwetoo-Unuv Course.

17th hole "island green" Paiute Wolf Course Photo submitted by RockinDoc on 10/05/2012
Super challenging Wolf Course
We found the Wolf course on GolfNow and knowing the rating of this course being the best in Las Vegas we jumped at the deal! It's naturally windy/breezy here so be prepared for that, but the overall course was amazing. I've been golfing 17 years and the fairways, rough and collar around the greens are possibly the best I've ever played on, the greens were very quick and among the top 3 nicest I've played on. I would play here again for sure and I'd consider trying one of the 2 other full courses here.
Fantastic ~~
Much much much better than pebble beach in terms of fairway and green status as well as cost.
The best so far
Heard a lot about the wolf course and now that I have played it I totally agree, best course around. Bring your A game if you want to tame this one. Cant wait to play it again. Worth every dollar
Paiute wolf
AMAZING COURSE, AMAZING VIEWS, VERY RELAXING. WILL PLAY HERE A LOT.
Did I play a different course??
Ok...... the Wolf is good. But great like all the reviews?? Most holes seemed very similar to me. The surroundings were very similar. I don't know I personally just was not blown away like most of the reviews I read. FYI- I did play some pretty spectacular courses on my trip. Cascata, Dragon Ridge, Conestoga, Wolf Creek, Coyote Springs, TPC Canyons, Rio Secco, Pauite to me fit right in the middle of this bunch.
Vegas weekend must play!
Went on a family trip to vegas and have played a lot of courses in the area, we wanted to try something new, even though it's a little ways north it was a easy trip up the 95. The facility is first class from the minute we arrived , the bag drop attendees greeted us as soon as we pulled up, had the bags out and onto carts the minute we arrived, instructed us to the clubhouse entrance and had everything ready after we checked in. The clubhouse and pro shop were first class , locker room first class, we were sent out to the driving range and instructed to let the starter know whenever we were ready, the course conditions were perfect !!!!! Tee to green . This will be a must play next trip back to vegas. Thanks again Paiute golf club . (The staff is first class from the greet to the pro shop). See you Super Bowl weekend.
Great Experience
Beautiful course, great scenery, well maintained. Pure golf course, quiet and serene in the morning, a little tougher as the sun rises and the wind picks up. Greens roll true. Fun to play, challenging but fair. Hit it straight off the tee and you can score here. Staff is friendly and helpful. Excellent value for the money. I played three different courses while I was in LV and this is the one I'll come back to first next time I'm here.
Very nice courst
Very nice well maintained course with excellent and difficult greens.
Greens are fast, but not as fast as some other courses here. Beautiful mountain views, and so quiet you can here your ball spin. Pace of play was extraordinarily slow though. We played on a busy Saturday with nice weather, and it was packed. Took us over 5 hours to finish, and we were backed up behind many other foursomes the entire way. One complaint was the extremely rude starter who inserted another foursome in front of us at the turn - so after we had stopped to buy a bottle of water, we found this other party on our tee, and the foursome that we had been following in the fairway, and the foursome in front of them on the green. We were not told that they had been put in front of us and just thought they were hole hopping. We asked the starter when we saw him and he was rude about it and did not apologize for slowing down our round. As a result we played the last round in the dark. At a course that costs this much a rude starter causing a delay is completely unacceptable. And they ran out of hot dogs at the turn. On a packed Saturday... Even though we enjoyed the course we will probably not return.
Wolf Course Best of the Three @Paiute
Finally played the Wolf, which I would rate as the best of the 3 courses. The Wolf has a bit more undulations, but fewer water hazards than Sun and Snow. Greens were perfect and not a bad lie in the fairways, The pace of play was OK on the front but got a little slow on the back. Just made it before 0-dark thirty (teed off at 11:00 A.M. Was also nice to see the clubhouse, since I had not been out to Paiute for about 12 years.
Challenging golf course
Read good reviews and decided to play there. Very windy, which made the course very difficult especially from the very back tee. Great condition, great layout. Would love to come back and play again. Highly recommended!
Very nice course
Amazing experience to play this course in the desert. Friendly staff, fairways and green in very good condition, a great view on the mountains surrounding the course.
Outstanding
Unbelievable beauty, in the middle of nowhere. Some of the best fairways and greens I have ever played. Got lucky, and kept it straight, and had a great day.
Pace of Play is Horrible!
I got a deal with golfnow and I was exited to play the wolf. The staff are super nice and friendly. Course conditions are great! So why I giving this course only 3 stars because of the pace of play is ridiculous SLOW! I only got to play 11 and half holes then it got dark. If they can they can fix somehow the slow play I'll give 5 stars to this course.
A first class experience.
From the moment I pulled my vehicle up on the property, I knew that I was about to experience a great round of golf. The facilities and staff are fantastic. The course was in great condition. This wasmy first round of golf on a desert course and the Wolf Course made a lasting impression on me. What a day of golf. You must play this course when your travel plans take you to Las Vegas.
BEAUTIFUL!!!
Tucked away in the middle of nowhere are three beautiful courses. From the Club house to the driving range, this place is a step up from your average Golf course (hence the price tag). The course itself isn't super challenging, but it's just hard enough for a middle range player to dig into his swear words, but just easy enough to remind them why they love the game. Long fairways, challenging water placement, and fast greens make for a fun round. Probably some of the best fairways I've ever hit off (but that could be because I'm rarely in the fairways normally). Worth the extra drive from Vegas, and a course I will play every time I visit!
Great Conditions
First time playing..
Did not know what to expect, and was pleasantly surprised. Will definitely return to play this course.
great course
We played the Wolf course on a particularly windy day. This added some extra complexity to this excellent course. Great lay out, and a mixed bag of forgiving holes and very challenging ones.
Worth the trip
Fine test of Pete Dye golf; great variety of golf holes. Challenging yet fun to play. Flags were all tucked today adding to the difficulty. Staff service was top shelf.
Great Course! Played Wolf
Played the wolf course with my husband. Got a great deal through golfnow for 7:39am. We were paired with another couple and played in 4 hrs. The course was well maintained. The greens were fast and rolled true and the fairways were nice. The different tee boxes were fair, fun and challenging. Hitting a straight ball off the tee is a must. Definitely one of the best courses in Las Vegas!
Great course
This is a great course! I really enjoyed the round and didn't find the course difficult, I shot my normal score.
The fairways and rough are reasonably wide so I was able to keep the ball in play. If you spray the ball left and right you will lose some balls.
