The Biltmore Golf Course
About
The Biltmore Golf Course in Coral Gables sits next to the beautiful hotel, an architectural masterpiece that was modeled after the Giralda Tower in Seville, Spain. Donald Ross designed the course in 1925 and the traditional layout has retained all of its original character. The golf course weaves through a series of canals that used to carry guests along in gondolas. The canals run alongside the lush fairways while towering banyan trees frame the elevated greens. Offering views of the historic hotel from nearly every hole, there are carts available but the golf course is worth the walk. The layout is popular not only for its historic scenery and verdant setting, but also for its playability. Over the years the Biltmore has been host to a number of professional golfers and celebrities ranging from Babe Ruth to Tiger Woods.

They should not allow anyone to play this course as the grass is dead and being prepared for a major renovation. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens are dead and torn up. Just wait until December when they are supposed to be done with renovations. Don’t waste your money. If I would’ve known this before purchasing I wouldn’t have purchased the round.
Scorched earth
Course under repair. Should not allow play. Totally unfair. Golf Now to blame for no 'heads up''.
Course Under Repair
Course is being redone. Should not be played now. Golf Now gave no 'heads-up'.
Very disappointing.
Being Restored/Renovated in 2018
This is my home course. Posting so players considering a visit know that the course will close for a restoration/renovation project effective July 5th. Plans are to do as much restoring to Ross' original design as possible. Yardage will be added for improved championship level play. If project goes according to schedule; re-opening scheduled for 12/15/2018. Fingers crossed that weather cooperates, and course re-opens on schedule, and the restoration project results in an improved experience.
Really Nice Course for the money
Got a hot deal tee time and also used some reward points so I paid very little for the round. Drove down from Fort Lauderdale to play. Well worth the trip. Only thing I was surprised they didn't offer were free range balls. Usually a course of this caliber gives free range balls for the price of play. Overall this course was great and I definitely would play again if it wasn't such a far drive for myself.
heart of miami
Wide open fairways. Good course if you can get a deal.
VERY unattentive staff. Had to seek out starter.
A STEAL
Classic course at iconic venue. Played back to back. Second date afforded time for the traps to be raked. Express deal both days made it a 2 for 1 steal!
Donald Ross classic
This Donald Ross jewel , with the Hot Deal rate, is a must play for serious golf lovers.
Expect wind, or at least a steady breeze, deep but playable bunkers.
If you're a fan or Donald Ross, don't miss this one.
I like this golf course but usually is expensive.
That is why I don’t play more often.
Not even in low season they have a twilight
Fantastic Donald Ross Course
I moved down to Miami around 7 months ago and this is probably my new favorite course in the area. It was a relatively pricey round, but I just booked directly through their website. I love Donald Ross courses in general, but found this course to have a particularly fun layout. The course was in great condition. The bar next to the clubhouse has great food.
Once Was Not Enough
Grand, old-school track in Coral Gables designed nearly 100 years ago by redoubtable Donald Ross is generally wide open, but deceptively tough, given strategically-placed bunkers and large, deep sand traps standing sentinel around undulating, glass-slick greens. As with so many other South Florida courses, dry conditions have thinned out the fairways and left reddish-brown dirt patches parked just outside the fairways and in the rough. Greens and frequently-visited bunkers were in excellent shape, however. Beverage cart service was spotty at first, but was attentive afterwards. Pace of play was slow, due to an elderly pair that would not allow us to pass through. Still, it was a gorgeous, sun-drenched day, and I could not resist playing an extra 18 on this most enjoyable throwback track. The pro shop was courteous, professional, and gladly sent me on my merry way for a replay round at nicely-reduced fee.
Was I at the right course?
As I walked off the 2nd green I turned to the guy I was paired with and asked him if I was missing something....The Tee boxes were spotty at best, fairways burned out in spots and crab grass around the greens. I happened to see a starter later on in my round and he asked how it was going. I shared my disappointment with the condition of the couse and he said “ I have been hearing that alot lately” my advice is to steer clear, much better options for the price...
