The Biltmore Golf Course
About
The Biltmore Golf Course in Coral Gables sits next to the beautiful hotel, an architectural masterpiece that was modeled after the Giralda Tower in Seville, Spain. Donald Ross designed the course in 1925 and the traditional layout has retained all of its original character. The golf course weaves through a series of canals that used to carry guests along in gondolas. The canals run alongside the lush fairways while towering banyan trees frame the elevated greens. Offering views of the historic hotel from nearly every hole, there are carts available but the golf course is worth the walk. The layout is popular not only for its historic scenery and verdant setting, but also for its playability. Over the years the Biltmore has been host to a number of professional golfers and celebrities ranging from Babe Ruth to Tiger Woods.

Fun Course
Playable and walkable Donald Ross Design. Played form the white tees and provided a good challenge. Some local knowledge with greens would be very helpful. Range and Practice greens would nothing special. Hit off of mats on range with normal range balls and chipping green area had brown areas and weeds though you could find some fairway areas. NIce place but wasn't a luxury resort course experience.
Great track
Biltmore lived up to the hype. Awesome layout and good conditions. Will definitely return
Classic layout in Miami area
My wife and I played here twice during a recent trip. We booked thru Golfnow. Course has the feel of a private country club. Great classic Donald Ross layout. Strategy helps you here, putting drives in the right place, etc. Plenty of room to use a driver. Good pace if play...finished in 3.5hrs as a twosome! Greens were a little rough shape. Lunch outside at 19th hole was good.
A Donald Ross course deserves better maintainance
A great layout, classic Donald Ross course. But bare spots on the greens, rock hard bunkers, and fairways that looked like mowed pastures were disappointing.
Very nice course
This was a very nice course, I would play it again when traveling back to Miami ! Staff was very nice !
Nice Course
Enjoyed the variety of challenges on this course. Found the greens and overall course condition to be very good. Greens had consistent speed. Pace was fantastic but it was a Monday and not very busy
The Biltmore and Donald Ross
The course was great and the starter and pro shop staff was very nice and helpful.
Great Day at the Biltmore
The course conditions were excellent . Pace was great at less than four hours but the greens were quick.
A great golf day
Nice course
Appreciate historical aspect of this very traditional course.
Home course for Miami University ladies team.
Nice layout but condition of course not very good.
Overall good experience.
Solid Course
This is a good resort course. I haven't played many in the area, so I am not sure how it compares to others.
It is a very playable layout, nothing too difficult or unfair. The course is in good shape, but they were working on some of the greens so they were less than optimal. The pace of the greens were ok, but a little inconsistent. Looked like they had been aerated not too long before, but there was never any mention of it until we got there.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the course to anyone, and I would come back and play it again if in the area. Staff was very friendly -- and welcoming.
A Donald Ross classic that is a must in MIami
I was keen to play this course given it is a Donald Ross design from the 20s and set against the backdrop of the iconic Biltmore. The course was in reasonable condition, although the greens, which are not the easiest anyway in true Ross style, were a bit patchy and very hard in place (such that you did not always get full value for good shots). Practice facilities are decent and pace of play was fine (just under 4 hours for a two ball and we did not have to wait until the 16th hole). If you can get a good Golfnow price (a day or two before and you can maybe get a hot deal for not much more than $50), it is well worth a visit.
Quick round
Played as a single which I am more than happy to do and flew round in well under 3 hours
Course is a reasonable layout in less than perfect condition with the stunning backdrop of the Biltmore Hotel
I enjoyed the pleasant change of a quick round but would struggle to justify the $120 green fee which was a “hot deal” from Golf now.
Return to Biltmore
Every year we like to come down to Florida and we always include a stop at the Biltmore. It is not the best manicured course we play in the area, but it is always a fun challenge.
Golf Now Goes Last- Check the WX
Had to wait beyond my tee time for 3 others running late. I was only able to okay 9 holes due to rain and late start. I was there an hour early to use the range. Nobody else playing and I wasn’t allowed to go out. The front 9 greens were air rated and I had condition. We reed off back nine
Donald Ross at his finest
What a great place. The hotel is so cool and historic. The course is no different. Donald Ross would be proud. We played from the Blues which was 6400 yards but played like 7,000. A lot of really tough par 4’s on this course. The greens were insanely fast. It’s almost impossible to keep an approach shot on the green. This is definitely a stop you should make if you’re in Miami, you’ll feel like Al Capone or Gatsby at this place. The staff could’ve been a little more helpful and the starter seemed rushed to get everyone out because we let 2 groups play though and still finished in a little under 4 hours. This is a course I would love to play everyday however and hope to play again before I leave.
