About
The Navy Golf Course Seal Beach is a 27-hole facility that includes the championship Destroyer Course and the nine-hole executive Cruiser Course. The 6,780-yard Destroyer Course presents a challenge even for low handicappers with a slew of hazards coming into play throughout. The small greens have challenging slopes ranging from subtle breaks to dramatic drop-offs. To make them even tougher, you'll find strategically placed bunkers lurking along the edges. The tricky doglegs, which are mostly par 4s, will force you to think carefully about your club selection, and to top it all off, water makes an appearance on almost every hole. It's a long golf course that feels even longer due to the rolling terrain, but it is more forgiving than it seems with long, wide fairways that won't penalize you for being slightly errant.

Slow
Enjoyable layout, good value for price but I guess like all public courses in this area it’s numbingly slow. Started 4:10 on a Sunday and only got 13 holes in before dark.

Amazing
This course never ceases to amaze me. Greens are large, but very challenging. Pace is good. The Marshall is on top of it. Staff at the Pro shop are great. Thanks Robin for fitting me in even though I was a little late. Not.my fault though, there was a huge group of Marines there playing the cruiser course and they all decided to check in at once. Overall, it's always great.

Amazing
This course is perfect for any skill level. The views are awesome. It's a tough and challenging course, but well worth it. Definitely humbling. The staff (John) in the Pro-Shop are great. Very patient and knowledgeable. I can't wait to get back and shoot better.

Would be 5 stars... but
Really enjoyed the layout and I was impressed with how well maintained the course was. Greens were slightly slower than you would find at a higher end course, but they were in great shape and putted true. Clubhouse is nice but was disappointed that they had no quick food options and I was told even a hot dog would take longer than 5 minutes. Pace of play was a real downer on what would have been an otherwise great day. Not fun to have 2 foursomes in front of you waiting at every tee box. The course is forgiving but plays LONG. Would play again despite he pace issue.

Getting slower and slower!
I grew up playing the Navy course! The golf course is usually well maintained greens are always solid though sometimes a little on the slow side compared to other area courses. Today's round was extremely slow we only played 14 holes in 5 hours.. the pace of play seems to get slower and slower!

Laid-Back SoCal Fun
First time at the course, in from Florida, who knows what you’ll find...but the Destroyer course was a lot of fun! The pro shop staff was welcoming, and found out the course is run by Navy MWR. Most all the clothing was on sale at great prices. The restaurant in the clubhouse was full of good food at great prices with friendly staff; same for the snack shop on the 12th hole (lunch for 2 and snacks for $17).
The course layout had more elevation into the greens than they appeared. Add at least one club if into any sort of wind. The course was aerated about a month ago according to our playing partner, Robin - who is a local and quite the player! - but you couldn’t tell. The greens were a touch soft and slow, but rolled true, the fairways were clean, and the rough was lush and thick.
The pace (4:40) wasn’t what I’m used to (sub 4 hour rounds) but we were a few groups behind a men’s league event.

When booking was not advised that two tournaments were going on. On the 12th hole our cart died and it took 15 min to get help.. Not a good day for cust service

Never disappointed.
A little worry about game flow, pace. There are tournaments ahead of us but it doesn’t bother at all. Windy little bit late afternoon but overall course conditions are good. I want to come again definitely.
