Destroyer at Seal Beach Navy Golf Course
About
The Navy Golf Course Seal Beach is a 27-hole facility that includes the championship Destroyer Course and the nine-hole executive Cruiser Course. The 6,780-yard Destroyer Course presents a challenge even for low handicappers with a slew of hazards coming into play throughout. The small greens have challenging slopes ranging from subtle breaks to dramatic drop-offs. To make them even tougher, you'll find strategically placed bunkers lurking along the edges. The tricky doglegs, which are mostly par 4s, will force you to think carefully about your club selection, and to top it all off, water makes an appearance on almost every hole. It's a long golf course that feels even longer due to the rolling terrain, but it is more forgiving than it seems with long, wide fairways that won't penalize you for being slightly errant.

Wet but playable
Course playing long due to saturated fairways. Still lots of puddles in fairways. Overall playable but a bit muddy and wet.
So nice
Played the course after heavy rain, in the morning ! The course was in a great shape, the staff was taking care of the fairway to ensure each spots were playable.
Did my round in 3:30!
So nice to lay here for such a price !
Hello, Please visit the course again once the weather clears. But we're glad you liked our course layout and friendly staff. Come back again soon.
Hello, Thank you for leaving us a 5-star rating. Book your next tee time with us soon.
Best course around!
Friend and I golf every week and Navy is by far the best course around! Not only are the conditions better, but the pace, staff, price, people on the course, cookies... lol everything is better! Makes me only want to play Navy!
Hello, Thank you for continuing to come back to Navy Golf Course every week. We're glad to have met your overall expectations on course conditions, pace of play and value for the money. We look forward to you again next week.
Destroyer
I thought the Navy Destroyer course was good. Some short holes, some long holes, very undulating multi-level greens that were in good condition, fast and firm. Lots of dogleg holes means it will take a few rounds to get a feeling for where to hit. Plenty of opportunity for risk/reward shots. Pace of play was a bit slow for a Wednesday. The staff was friendly. I had a good time and recommend the course.
Hello, Thank you for leaving us a 4-star rating. We're glad you had a great time at the course. Thank you for recommending us and please come back again soon.
Slow
Very slow. Cart was running out of power and no help available.
Hello, Thank you for providing your feedback. We would like to apologize for the pace of play. Please allow us to make it up to you in the near future.
Slow!
Nice course for the money. Just so slow! I just moved here from New Jersey and rounds over there took around 4 hours. Always marshals making sure people keep it moving. Played here 6 times and every round has been over 5 hours! It's truly a shame that it takes this long.
Hello, Thank you for providing your feedback. We would like to apologize about the pace of play. Please allow us to make it up to you in the near future.
Navy Course still great
Course is always in good shape. Challenging enough layout for experienced golfer without being too intimidating for a beginner. Staff is great. Great value for the price.
Hi Pat, Thank you for leaving Navy Golf Course a 4-star rating. We're glad you liked our course layout, friendly staff and value for the money. Please come back again soon.
Course in great condition
Played this course about 20 times over the last 10 years. The course is in the best condition now than I've ever experienced before. Was a little slow the first couple holes, but the pace of play sped up after that. The length of the course, coupled with the afternoon breeze made it very challenging. I cannot wait for my next round there.
Hello, We're glad you liked our course conditions. Thank you for continuing to come back to play Navy Golf Course. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Very Slow!
If you're looking for a reasonable pace of play, don't come here... just finished a round of 05:15 . Painful...and it was Wednesday. No marshalls in sight.
The course setup is challenging from the back tees, and the course is in decent shape, the greens are above average condition.
I would play here again if it weren't so slow, but this is my fourth time and never had a round under four hours. Heck, I'd be happy with 4.5, but over 5 hours seems to be the norm.
We are sorry to hear the pace of play when you came was unusually slow. We will continue to work diligently on this. We hope you'll give us another shot soon.
Great course great price!
First time trying the course. My friend and I loved the layout and condition. We got a great deal online and met some great people. We will definitely be back.
We're glad you had a terrific first time playing at Navy Golf Course! We look forward to your next round with us.
Thank you for your 5-star rating! Book another round with us soon.
Course was in great shape, greens rolled quick and smooth. Overall a great day even when Parga lost his 6 iron.
Thank you for the 5 stars! We'll keep an eye out for the 6 iron. We hope you'll join us again soon with another tee time!
Good valve
Although frost delay caused teetime to change 40 minutes later, a free bucket of balls and good practice facilities made up for it. Once play resumed you hardly notice it due to good spacing of groups. The course is long, with plenty of water or bunker hazards strategically placed, you will enjoy playing this course over many times.
We're glad you had a pleasant round despite the initial delay. We hope to see you again next year!
Great Day @ the Destroyer
First time here at Navy. Course was in great shape and played very nice. Great course and value.
We're glad you enjoyed your first time playing at Navy Golf Course! We hope to see you out here more often this season.
We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars. We hope you'll give us another try in the near future.
Hello, u966763154. We are sorry to learn you had a negative golfing experience with us. Please, feel free to give us more feedback we can build upon. Thanks for playing Destroyer at Seal Beach Navy Golf Course.
Great for December Golf!
This was a good find for a visitor. Friendly, good course conditions, and reasonably priced. The only minor complaint would be pace of play. Folks need to pick it up a bit, 4 hours 40 minutes is long for public play.
We're glad you played Navy Golf Course while on your visit! We will continue to work on the pace of play. We hope you give us another shot soon.
Go Navy Golf!
Best value in Orange County with fun challenge for the weekend golfer!
We're glad you found value in our golf course! Be sure to book your next tee time with us soon.
Awesome Course
A great course layout . It’s called the destroyer course for a reason but had an awesome time playing it. Worth playing again
We're glad you found the challenge worth it. We hope to see you out here again soon!
