Snow Mountain at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort
About
There are three championship courses at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort, all of which were designed by Pete Dye. Snow Mountain is the original course, joined by Sun Mountain, which is considered the easiest of the three, and Wolf is the newest and most challenging.
At over 7,600 yards, Wolf is also the longest course in Nevada but Snow Mountain is quite lengthy as well at 7,146 yards. Dye incorporated his signature railroad-tie bunkers and water comes into play on seven holes. This risk-reward layout is known for having the best par-3s at the resort. One of these is the stunning 16th hole with its panoramic view of Sheep Mountain. It requires a long carry over water but the bailout area to the right provides a relatively easy up and down and the greenside bunkers don't usually come into play.
Also known as Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort - Nu-Wav-Kaiv Course.

The third, par-5, 557: For those who don’t drive it 300 yards, the fairway’s left side is the more favorable lay-up zone: it best opens up the green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/18/2025

The fifth is a long and challenging par-4 of 458, but it’s also fair from tee to cup. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/18/2025

Your tee shot will cross the desert at the par-3 eighth. Running the ball onto the green is dangerous; the ball tends to bounce left/downhill, leaving a difficult pitch. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/18/2025

To drive this 356-yard par-4, your tee shot should cut the corner—across the desert. A great risk/reward hole. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/18/2025

This is truly a must play if you what to experience desert golf. Lush fairways and good greens. Quiet setting with big views. Played on a Sunday and still around in 4 1/2 hrs.
Very nice course , great views and layout , always in good condition , tees for all levels . Our problem was that we were a two ball . By the 6th hole we were backed up . However after finishing the front nine we checked with the starter and went back and played the front 9 again which was clear and worked great . It was very cold and windy so we preferred to keep moving . We always play here when we come to Vegas
Another Great Course
Another great course, great staff, great view, great time.
Wind blowing golf in the Artic
My brother & I played with my wife while on vacation in Las Vegas. The wind was blowing like Crazy & it was very cold maybe 45 with the wind chill factor. I hit a 6 iron to a par 3 of 150 yards into the wind and came up short a 6 iron for me is about 185 yards. We began by renting a cart cover just to stay warm between shoots. Seeing everyone dressed in artic gear was our first indication of the conditions at the course. We went to the driving range and could not even keep our eyes from running due to the wind. Save your money, there are plenty of Great golf courses in Vegas!
Pleasant Surprise
Driving up I-95 it doesn't look anything special. Once you are on the property it really is impressive. The course was green tee to green including fairways. Windy but a wise man once told me "wind has little effect on a well struck ball". It was a very enjoyable round. I'll be back.
WOW !!!!!
This course was amazing, surroundings were amazingly beautiful ! Breathtaking... not enough adjectives! Course in awesome condition and the staff very friendly and attentive, if you get a chance to play here I suggest you jump on it ! I will be back again !
Excellent choice for Vegas trip
This was my second time playing the Snow course. Brought all the guys here for our golf trip and this was our first course since our long winters nap. The wind was blowing 15 to 25 mph on our day here. Difficult to play well under those conditions .
The Snow course is well designed as you will use every club in your bag. The greens still showed signs of the last aeration so they weren't their best but still putted OK. Will leave it in the rotation for Vegas trips.
Snow is the way to go!
Great facility, staff and course(s also played Wolf). Golf now rates made it extra special. Greens were fast with an impending tournament play but the course was otherwise in great shape and a lot of fun to play. Totally worth the drive out of Vegas. Incredible views, with 2 calm wind days.
Always Great
Always a pleasure playing any of the 3 courses, even with the wind that's always there, although Snow which we played is my favorite. Layout, course conditions and staff are always great.
Amazing experience
I've never played a course like this. Played snow mountain. Excellent conditions. Friendly staff. Out of this world views. If you come to Vegas and don't play here, you've wasted your time.
Love Paiute
Second time at Paiute, first time on the Snow course. Great course, long from yellow or black tees. A little bit of everything to challenge golfers of all skill levels. Friendliest staff I have experienced compared to anywhere else. Pace today was slow--took 4.5 hours to complete round but weather was perfect for 12/29 so didn't mind waiting. Looking forward to playing here again and again.
Golf now staff and course staff top notch !
Great great great :)
Best golf in Las Vegas area
I love the Paiute courses - all three are excellent and in superb shape. Greens, tees, bunkers, and fairways are immaculate. Generally speaking, there's plenty of room off the tees and then the approach shots are tough. I thought the greens on Snow were hard to read, but they rolled true and the speed was consistent. There's no better deal in Las Vegas golf than the Paiute courses (any of the three) at a GolfNow hot deal price. Staff is very friendly, ranges and practice areas are terrific - and the food and drink in the clubhouse is excellent, too (get the jalapeno-cilantro wings!)
fast greens
always a super place to play. The greens were fast fast fast maybe the fastest I've ever seen> Course is in a great location no houses, no suburbs.
Great golf
The Paiute courses are always in excellent shape. The clubhouse and staff are friendly, accommodating, and provide good service. The three Pete Dye courses are all excellence and Snow and Wolf are the better of the three and equal in challenge, beauty, and adventure.
Great layout with tough par 3's
This is a great course. With unlimited water rights, this is a lush green course. Also high up it is windy and the ball carries.
My favorite Vegas course. There was a tournament playing in front of us so a 5 hour round. Yikes.
But otherwise a great course and experience.
Snow Mountain it is!
Had a very nice round at Las Vegas Paiute Resort Snow Mountain Course. Greens were not as nice as the Wolf and Sun Mountain, but the overall course conditions were very good. Pace of play was incredible compared to Midwest weekend play, 3 of us played in 3:30. Typical Pete Dye course where visual "hazards" are in sight but not really if you hit a good shot. LV Paiute is a female friendly facility, not all in Vegas are. 18 played a lot longer than the card says when the wind gusts. Great view of the club house behind the green.
See you in 2017.
Excellent Value in LV
Found this track on GolfNow and was very pleased. Conditions were outstanding, and, despite having a tournament, the on course rangers were able to considerably speed up play and kept us posted on their progress. I liked the Wolf better but Snow is no joke. Greens putt smooth and hold irons. Fairways are in great shape. No excuse not to score here.
Great course
Great course great shape challenging with the wind I look forward to playing again.
