Snow Mountain at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort
About
There are three championship courses at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort, all of which were designed by Pete Dye. Snow Mountain is the original course, joined by Sun Mountain, which is considered the easiest of the three, and Wolf is the newest and most challenging.
At over 7,600 yards, Wolf is also the longest course in Nevada but Snow Mountain is quite lengthy as well at 7,146 yards. Dye incorporated his signature railroad-tie bunkers and water comes into play on seven holes. This risk-reward layout is known for having the best par-3s at the resort. One of these is the stunning 16th hole with its panoramic view of Sheep Mountain. It requires a long carry over water but the bailout area to the right provides a relatively easy up and down and the greenside bunkers don't usually come into play.
Also known as Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort - Nu-Wav-Kaiv Course.

The third, par-5, 557: For those who don’t drive it 300 yards, the fairway’s left side is the more favorable lay-up zone: it best opens up the green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/18/2025

The fifth is a long and challenging par-4 of 458, but it’s also fair from tee to cup. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/18/2025

Your tee shot will cross the desert at the par-3 eighth. Running the ball onto the green is dangerous; the ball tends to bounce left/downhill, leaving a difficult pitch. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/18/2025

To drive this 356-yard par-4, your tee shot should cut the corner—across the desert. A great risk/reward hole. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/18/2025

Best course in vegas
This course exceeded my expectations.
Course layout, condition of green and fairways are out standing.
Great course. Looking Forward to returning.
This course is an amazing layout. Even though it is about 30 minutes away from the Strip, it is worth it. Has a great combination of Par 4s, with some short and others moderately long. Really like the setup of the course, with the front 9 playing clockwise and the back playing counterclockwise. Amazing all around views. Everything is in front of you, with very little forced carries. The par 3s are a little difficult, but that's the nature of the beast. Cannot wait to play the other 2 courses there.
Beautiful course
Fairways, greens in perfect condition. You can tell its very well maintained.
Windy Yet Fun
This is a beautiful course about 30 minutes away from the Las Vegas Strip. The course is challenging yet the biggest challenge I faced was the wind. It added to the challenge but I enjoyed it none the less. I played with 2 other friends and they loved it as well. Beautiful views of the mountains on every hole. Just enough water in play. The club house is expensive but very nice.
great course to play. Very nice clubhouse.
Snow Mountain is one of 3 courses at Paiute. The staff were very friendly. We would definitely return.
Paiute is always a good choice
First time playing the Snow course. I had previously played Sun and Wolf. Snow was in excellent shape all around - greens, tees, fairways and bunkers. The course is very playable for all levels of golfers as long as you choose the correct tees. Scenery is very nice as there are no houses to interfere with some spectacular mountain views. I would play any of the Paiute courses again without hesitation. Drive from the Strip is definitely worth the time. Practice facilities are also very good with no charge for range balls and a nice short game area. Paiute will always be on my list of courses to play in Vegas.
Awesome Course
I arrived early in the morning, as I had a 7:40 tee time. When I arrived it was a bit on the chilly side, I would say it was mid 50's. So if you plan to go there in the morning (this was first week of March), take a light jacket with you. I was a single and I was paired up with another single. Pace of play was excellent as there was no one in front of us and no one behind us. We stopped and admired the scenery and snapped a few pictures along the way. From the first whole to the last whole this course was definitely something to behold. The beautiful desert terrain with the mountains in the backdrop was very picturesque. All 3 of the courses here were literally out in the middle of nowhere. There was an exit off of highway 95 that (after turning right) was a road that led directly into the Pauite Clubhouse. This course was located about 35 minutes outside of Vegas, but it was well worth the drive.. The fairways were pretty forgiving for being a Pete Dye course. This particular course (Snowmass) did have a lot of water hazards, so if water makes you nervous, you might want to take a few extra sleeves of balls. The greens rolled true, and the rest of the course was in decent shape. The bunkers had quite a few rocks mixed in with the sand. And if you do hit it OB, you will probably be somewhere in the rocks or gravel (which means your ball could bounce anywhere). Overall, it was a VERY enjoyable experience. Try to go during the week if you can. I went early on a Friday and it wasn't that crowded. At $130 (and $40 for a replay), you truly do get your money's worth at this course. I would highly recommend it.
Make the Drive!
This course is beautiful, multiple tee boxes for average to Very good players. I don't typically write reviews but had to share the Great time we had on the course.
It is challenging but fair, greens were in great shape rolling about 11-12.
The staff from start to finish was great, very helpful in every aspect.
Once you play you will be hooked!
Nice Golf Course
Nice golf courses. the staff are not helpful when it comes to directions to start locations and practise facilities. they assume everyone knows where everything is. I had to ask 4 times and all I got was a wave "over there"
CJK
Excellent golf course with many amenities. Very friendly staff. Fairway on 18 of Snow Mountain course not in great condition...very soggy this time of year
Vegas Bucket List
Must play if in Vegas. Great course and layout- lots of room off tees-plays shorter than yardage with some holes downhill and downwind. Greens were in great condition- small and relatively flat.
Bring your wind game and a desert club.
Rangers were great and went out of their way to move our twosome up a few groups at the turn / we played in 3.5 hours
Can't wait to come back and play the other two eighteens
Windy conditions made it challenging
Nice course but hole designs were too similar to each other.
Snowy Cold
It was cold and a little breezy, but the course was in good shape and the pace of play was comfortable.
I was allowed to start about a half hour early and was able to take my time. I let the single behind me catch up and that provided good company.
The beverage cart appeared several times during play which was nice.
The snow course has water in play on a few holes including the 18th. The greens are tough to read. They tend to break to the city, but not always.
The course was in good shape and I thoroughly enjoyed my round.
Beautiful scenery
Played the Snow Mountain course with a group of friends on a warm day in September. I played the Sun Mountain course last year and looked forward to trying the original 18 hole Snow course. I was not disappointed. Starting with the friendliness and accommodation of the golf shop staff, I had messed up the tee time reservation and they got it straightened out. Big kudos for that. The shop is large and has a good selection of shirts and apparel.
We grabbed some drinks from the snack bar that were actually reasonably priced (by Vegas standards). Having also played Spanish Trail (which isn't as nice as Paiute) this is a big deal as a few beers and a sandwich there was over $25. It was half that here at Paiute.
Great practice facility with balls in the range though it's a drive from the first tee. I guess there are 2 ranges and I feel like we went to the wrong one closer to the Sun course.
I preferred the layout of Snow Mountain over Sun Mountain with the mix of long and short or 4's, and water in play on several of the holes. As with Sun, the views are spectacular. Once you get out to the corner of the golf course you see nothing except desert and mountains. The view on #16 is surreal and awesome. Condition of the course was excellent. Fairways were smooth and rolled but were easy to hit from. Rough was fair, but sticky in spots so worth avoiding. Greens were smooth and at a fair speed.
We will play Paiute every Vegas golf trip. It's absolutely with the drive from the strip or downtown.
Must Play!!!!
Excellent course to play!!!! You will enjoy yourself and the staff are over the top friendly.
Interesting Course
Very nice layout, relatively flat.A few holes with blind shots but reachable to the greens. Staff were very friendly and the food portions were generous. Definitely a recommended course.
Absolutely beautiful course on a tough windy day
When you decide to play Paiute, you know there's a good chance it will be windy. This day we played in a tournament, and the winds were blowing a steady 35 mph all day long. Tough conditions. Ball stayed put on greens though, so very playable.
The entire course is in the best condition I've seen. Its always been great, but it was about as perfect as I've ever seen it. I guess since I won the Low Net, I can't complain. But I know golf, and golf course conditions, and these were incredible.
nov 30/15 snow course
staff is friendly, greens are consistent, fairways are perfect. First time playing the snow course and somewhat challenging, more doglegs which is nice. Will go back.
Great layout & nice surrounding
Unfortunately we have to play in extreme windy condition and apart from that we had a great time on the course,
Fun Course to play.
The course was very good today. Warm temps and light breezes on top of immaculate conditions. Putts rolled true. The pace was 4 hrs 10 min, very comfortable. Enjoyed the day. Only issue they could address is the cart staff. It took them 15 minutes to get clubs from bag drop to cart down below. They seemed confused and rushed. When the round was over I had to hurry to an appointment, so I asked them to drive up to bag drop with me in cart. They refused. Then they said you can walk. Took my clubs off cart, unwashed irons, pointed to path. No tip today for these guys. Only negative to otherwise perfect day. One other suggestion, better signage to the holes. With 6 nines, two driving ranges, it can be confusing.
