Snow Mountain at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort
About
There are three championship courses at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort, all of which were designed by Pete Dye. Snow Mountain is the original course, joined by Sun Mountain, which is considered the easiest of the three, and Wolf is the newest and most challenging.
At over 7,600 yards, Wolf is also the longest course in Nevada but Snow Mountain is quite lengthy as well at 7,146 yards. Dye incorporated his signature railroad-tie bunkers and water comes into play on seven holes. This risk-reward layout is known for having the best par-3s at the resort. One of these is the stunning 16th hole with its panoramic view of Sheep Mountain. It requires a long carry over water but the bailout area to the right provides a relatively easy up and down and the greenside bunkers don't usually come into play.
Also known as Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort - Nu-Wav-Kaiv Course.

The third, par-5, 557: For those who don’t drive it 300 yards, the fairway’s left side is the more favorable lay-up zone: it best opens up the green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/18/2025

The fifth is a long and challenging par-4 of 458, but it’s also fair from tee to cup. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/18/2025

Your tee shot will cross the desert at the par-3 eighth. Running the ball onto the green is dangerous; the ball tends to bounce left/downhill, leaving a difficult pitch. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/18/2025

To drive this 356-yard par-4, your tee shot should cut the corner—across the desert. A great risk/reward hole. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/18/2025

Return to Snow Mnt.
I first played this course in the late 90s on a trip from Syracuse. Always a great memory, so good in fact I'm retiring in LV, along with getting out of the snow in NY.
The trip from town to the course was shorter than I remember so we arrived early, got some attitude from the desk guy but the starters got us on the course after a warm-up. As good as I remember. I'll be back when I move here.
Didn't have any bar time, but there is a great deck.
Rogiton
Course is on great condition
In the middle of the desert is this oasis of green. The fairways are immaculate and the greens were perfect. The day was a little windy so shots were difficult to judge but the bunkers had plenty of sand to work with. Overall, a perfect day of golf!
great course
The course was in great shape. I wish is was closer to town, or at least my side of town. The weather was great. one of the top courses to play in Vegas.
Paiute is the best golf operation in Las Vegas
This is a really well run golf operation. I've played the Sun and the Snow courses, and found both to be terrific. The greens and fairways were in great shape, players seem to actually fill divots and repair ball marks on this course. I played alone, and followed a twosome. We got around in three hours and fifteen minutes. It is worth the half hour drive to play here. I will come back every time I'm in Las Vegas.
mind games
Boy Pete sure makes you think. This course plays with the mind. you gotta play it.
Always a great experience
Pauite is IMO hands down the best course to play in LV. I play it every time I come to Vegas. There may be a handful of courses that are slightly more challenging, but none of the $300+ course I have played have better course conditions or a better staff. This time was no different. The green were near perfect and the fairways were like lush carpet. And, BTW, the views are incredible. Overall, a memorable golf experience.
Paiute Golf
Paiute Golf has three courses to choose from, the Sun, Snow, and Wolf. I had previously only played the Snow course until recently when I was able to get on the Wolf. I can't comment on the Sun course because I have not played it-YET!!
Any of these courses are a great value but the Wolf is special. I recommend that you give any of these courses a look if you are anywhere near Las Vegas.
Great golf
Played snow which is suppose to be the easier of the 3 course. Although yardage wasn't very long, wind made many holes a challenge. Was told by a member that it's like that pretty much all the time. Other than that, it was a great, beautiful, well maintain course. Highly recommend. Btw we played a threesome and waited many holes. Still finished in 415. But the waiting really gets you out of rhythm, at least that's the excuse I'm going with.
Enjoyable layout and great conditions
The course conditions were perfect. The course was not crowded at all (late morning tee time in Las Vegas). The weather was warm, but a constant breeze made it comfortable. The layout was challenging but very manageable. Can't wait to play it again.
Paiute is the best!
Terrific course at an outstanding golf resort. Will certainly play here again.
We had so much fun we went around again
We played the Snow Mountain course in the morning at the start of our trip, and had so much fun that we went back out and played the Wolf course in the afternoon! Never mind that it was 106 degrees, we just weren't sure when we could get back to play again. As it turns out, it will be at the end of our trip, and we hope to go around twice again. Both courses are challenging, but the wind came into play far more on the Wolf course (but even with the wind we both made it across to the island green on our first shot!).
The employees at the Paiute Golf Resort are fabulous, the courses are well maintained and beautiful, the food is great.........it's a must for any Las Vegas golf trip!
Paiute snow mountain
Course is tough. I took a lot of drops from water hazards. Greens were extremely fast and challenging. Grass was very well taken care of. I recommend this course to intermediate to advanced players.
Very Nice Round
We teed off at about 6:30 AM to get ahead of the heat of the day and we played in just over three hours as there were very few other players.
Holes are wide open with lots of space. What you see is what you get on shots - no "stupid" holes.
Outstanding practice facilities!
We will go back again next time we are in Las Vegas.
Paiute Snow
Love all three of the Paiute courses, the Wolf being my favorite but is challenging.
The Snow course was it's usual beautiful, well maintained self. Some water adding a little fun here and there.
Great course surrounded by beautiful panorama
Played the Snow course in a little over 3 hours during twilight hours (2:50 pm tee time) on Sunday afternoon. Great course conditions with gentle breeze. Picturesque settings with water, desert and mountain views. Wonderfully relaxing with no one playing behind me. Only negative comment is that GPS didn't work. Course however had plenty of yardage markers. Rental clubs were a nice set of Taylormade Jetspeed clubs. Will definitely come back to play again.
Great Experience
This course is about 20 minutes outside Vegas and is well worth the drive. The course is in great shape and for a difficult course the pace of play was good (4 hrs). I recommend the trip and am planning to play the Wolf course next.
Awesome course
Was on vacation in Vegas for the week and golfed 4 different courses during the week. We golfed the Snow Mountain course and it was the best course we golfed on all week. I've golfed about 12 different courses in Vegas on past trips and this course is the best of them all. The greens and fairways were in great condition and the staff was friendly. Definitely going back to this course on my next trip to Vegas.
A day in the sun...
Great condition, super staff, but we played in a 2-3 club wind so it made for a difficult afternoon. Course was almost empty (after the Memorial Day weekend?), so we played in just over 3 hours. The greens were fast and firm
Nice course
The Snow course was awesome. We had a blast playing.
