Snow Mountain at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort
About
There are three championship courses at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort, all of which were designed by Pete Dye. Snow Mountain is the original course, joined by Sun Mountain, which is considered the easiest of the three, and Wolf is the newest and most challenging.
At over 7,600 yards, Wolf is also the longest course in Nevada but Snow Mountain is quite lengthy as well at 7,146 yards. Dye incorporated his signature railroad-tie bunkers and water comes into play on seven holes. This risk-reward layout is known for having the best par-3s at the resort. One of these is the stunning 16th hole with its panoramic view of Sheep Mountain. It requires a long carry over water but the bailout area to the right provides a relatively easy up and down and the greenside bunkers don't usually come into play.
Also known as Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort - Nu-Wav-Kaiv Course.

The third, par-5, 557: For those who don’t drive it 300 yards, the fairway’s left side is the more favorable lay-up zone: it best opens up the green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/18/2025

The fifth is a long and challenging par-4 of 458, but it’s also fair from tee to cup. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/18/2025

Your tee shot will cross the desert at the par-3 eighth. Running the ball onto the green is dangerous; the ball tends to bounce left/downhill, leaving a difficult pitch. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/18/2025

To drive this 356-yard par-4, your tee shot should cut the corner—across the desert. A great risk/reward hole. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/18/2025

Would play it again
Round was good very windy that day. My wife and I were paired with two guys who didn't seem to know golf etiquette. It was annoying but we played our own game and aside from the windy conditions had a great round. This is our second time playing this course and will definitely play it again.
Nice place to visit
It's out in the middle of nowhere, so bring whatever you think you'll need with you, or prepare to pay. Views of the mountains are pretty spectacular and the course is in terrific shape. Played with some locals and thoroughly enjoyed the round.
Definitely include this course when you are in Vegas
Wide fairways, very golfer friendly course. Extremely well run and maintained throughout. Will definitely return.
WEEKEND VEGAS
PLAYED FRIDAY WOLF COURSE SATURDAY SNOW COURSE BOTH WHERE A LOT OF FUN
Good Time
I would come back and play again. Great conditions. Fast greens. Windy at times.
great value
Paid $60 which is about $20 less at a noon tee time. GPS system wasn't great. Good course. Fast greens that took a few holes to get used to. They run true and don't break much. Apparently the ideal track is the wolf, but this was fun. Travel and play all over. I'm a 14 handicap
Robert herschbach
This course is very unique and worth every penny , an excellent value.I'm looking forward to returning and playing the sister course.
ABSOLUTE BEST
Pauite snow course was from the first step a top-notch playing spot. I found it to be challenging but not unplayable for i shot a nice 74, an acceptable score despite some poor second shots to the green. My only complaint was a bothersome marshall that kept pushing me along to finish my round before dark which in essence cause me to bogey an easy par 3.
Cart Jacked!!
Beautiful course with immaculate conditions. The holes became somewhat redundant after awhile, mainly due the flat terrain. My main complaint was while our group was hitting
on the first tee, the starter was removing my belongings from my cart?!? A single can't have his own cart? What did I just pay $$$ for. I understand the need to send all groups out as foursomes and being paired up with a threesome is not a problem, but we all thought that this arrangement needed to be addressed prior to us teeing off. The starter/ Marshall seemed concerned about pace of play, but delaying the group to take my cart backfired in their face. Pro shop employees offered no compensation, Too many options in town to treat customers so poorly.
Underrated
We played the Snow Mountain course this day which was overall a very good course. The greens were immaculate and as good as it gets. Apparently they were recovering from a storm and flooding but the repairs were excellent. The whole Paiute Golf Resort is very underrated when it comes to Las Vegas area courses. It's 20 minutes from the strip and the views are gorgeous.
The snow course is in great playing condition for all the storm damage that occured earlier!
only complaint would be the mess the mud hens make, really need to get the problem under control.
Top-notch course. Fast greens.
Am from AZ which boasts more courses than all of Scotland and went up randomly to Vegas to golf. Found this nice course on Golfnow and it is AMAZING. Easily one of the finest courses I've played on. If you want fantastic scenery, pristine course conditions, friendly staff, upscale facilities, and a fun yet challenging course, this should be on your bucket list. It is a little pricier (anything over $50 is fancy for me just to put things into perspective), never the less, well worth every dollar. It is a par 72, 18 hole course that spares no expense. Will be back to this facility to check out the two other courses. Need to mention that the greens are the fastest greens. I've ever played one. Wasn't able to practice put before hand and would recommend that first. Overall five stars. Look at all the other high ratings. I agree with that. Play and make your own judgement.
Great recovery from flood!!
Course was in great shape! Knew there had been a flood, but didn't realize till after round and saw pictures. Greens were fast! Balls didn't really check up that much. Played lots of bump and run.
Super nice track
Great course. Excellant shape. If you have the time play 36
Really great course
This is an excellent course for any golfer, but may be a challenge for the higher handicaps. It is in excellent condition considering the recent flood and the greens are the best I have putted on all year. If you want an enjoyable round of golf, this is a must play
Average
Lightning fast greens, 12 maybe 13, no joke!. Good thing it was a hot deal otherwise too expensive, all in all ok.
Great shape, fairways lush!
Had a great time, good flow of refreshment carts. Greens were great. Perfect day!
A solid course with a good layout
A good track. Nice use of sand and water to make shorter holes challenging. Greens were a bit hard but rolled true.
Worth the trip!
If you haven't played Paiute Sun, Snow, or Wolf, it's definitely worth the 40 minute drive from the Las Vegas strip. You can't go wrong on either of the three courses. Snow Mountain was in very good condition despite the Summer 2013 flood, and I would highly recommend Wolf if you can get on. Beautiful desert setting, extremely well-manicured, and awesome staff.
slowest round in the history of golf
This place has been under a real hardship over the last 2 months….that being said there is no excuse for letting slow play destroy everyones round on a golf course. The ranger that came out said that there was nothing they could do about it and that is pure BS. I paid $68 to play 9 holes because nobody wanted to enforce a real pace of play. It took 3 hours and 10 minutes to play the front 9 and when we finished the 9th hole there was at best 25 minutes of sunlight remaining so we left. Completely unacceptable!!
