Snow Mountain at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort
About
There are three championship courses at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort, all of which were designed by Pete Dye. Snow Mountain is the original course, joined by Sun Mountain, which is considered the easiest of the three, and Wolf is the newest and most challenging.
At over 7,600 yards, Wolf is also the longest course in Nevada but Snow Mountain is quite lengthy as well at 7,146 yards. Dye incorporated his signature railroad-tie bunkers and water comes into play on seven holes. This risk-reward layout is known for having the best par-3s at the resort. One of these is the stunning 16th hole with its panoramic view of Sheep Mountain. It requires a long carry over water but the bailout area to the right provides a relatively easy up and down and the greenside bunkers don't usually come into play.
Also known as Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort - Nu-Wav-Kaiv Course.

The third, par-5, 557: For those who don’t drive it 300 yards, the fairway’s left side is the more favorable lay-up zone: it best opens up the green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/18/2025

The fifth is a long and challenging par-4 of 458, but it’s also fair from tee to cup. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/18/2025

Your tee shot will cross the desert at the par-3 eighth. Running the ball onto the green is dangerous; the ball tends to bounce left/downhill, leaving a difficult pitch. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/18/2025

To drive this 356-yard par-4, your tee shot should cut the corner—across the desert. A great risk/reward hole. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/18/2025

Paiute is the best!
Terrific course at an outstanding golf resort. Will certainly play here again.
We had so much fun we went around again
We played the Snow Mountain course in the morning at the start of our trip, and had so much fun that we went back out and played the Wolf course in the afternoon! Never mind that it was 106 degrees, we just weren't sure when we could get back to play again. As it turns out, it will be at the end of our trip, and we hope to go around twice again. Both courses are challenging, but the wind came into play far more on the Wolf course (but even with the wind we both made it across to the island green on our first shot!).
The employees at the Paiute Golf Resort are fabulous, the courses are well maintained and beautiful, the food is great.........it's a must for any Las Vegas golf trip!
Paiute snow mountain
Course is tough. I took a lot of drops from water hazards. Greens were extremely fast and challenging. Grass was very well taken care of. I recommend this course to intermediate to advanced players.
Very Nice Round
We teed off at about 6:30 AM to get ahead of the heat of the day and we played in just over three hours as there were very few other players.
Holes are wide open with lots of space. What you see is what you get on shots - no "stupid" holes.
Outstanding practice facilities!
We will go back again next time we are in Las Vegas.
Paiute Snow
Love all three of the Paiute courses, the Wolf being my favorite but is challenging.
The Snow course was it's usual beautiful, well maintained self. Some water adding a little fun here and there.
Great course surrounded by beautiful panorama
Played the Snow course in a little over 3 hours during twilight hours (2:50 pm tee time) on Sunday afternoon. Great course conditions with gentle breeze. Picturesque settings with water, desert and mountain views. Wonderfully relaxing with no one playing behind me. Only negative comment is that GPS didn't work. Course however had plenty of yardage markers. Rental clubs were a nice set of Taylormade Jetspeed clubs. Will definitely come back to play again.
Great Experience
This course is about 20 minutes outside Vegas and is well worth the drive. The course is in great shape and for a difficult course the pace of play was good (4 hrs). I recommend the trip and am planning to play the Wolf course next.
Awesome course
Was on vacation in Vegas for the week and golfed 4 different courses during the week. We golfed the Snow Mountain course and it was the best course we golfed on all week. I've golfed about 12 different courses in Vegas on past trips and this course is the best of them all. The greens and fairways were in great condition and the staff was friendly. Definitely going back to this course on my next trip to Vegas.
A day in the sun...
Great condition, super staff, but we played in a 2-3 club wind so it made for a difficult afternoon. Course was almost empty (after the Memorial Day weekend?), so we played in just over 3 hours. The greens were fast and firm
Nice course
The Snow course was awesome. We had a blast playing.
I return to this course
We played in cluster 11 friends and we all agreed that the next trip to Las Vegas return to play this course.
Great layout fun course to play.
Got the twilight time frame. Good value, but the afternoon wind was brutal. Really loved the layout and course design. Beautiful desert scenery.
Perfect course without wind
This course is a wonderful place to go an enjoy a great round of golf. I have played all three golf courses at Paiute and love all three. It's a steal anytime you can find a price of less than 35-40 dollars. The only reason I have it marked down is because more often than not it is incredibly windy out there. Yesterday when I played it was perfect conditions and after the second hole it picked up and didn't let down. We had a steady 30-40 mph wind gust the next 3 hours making the course nearly unplayable. If it weren't for the amount of wind that is so frequent at Paiute it would be my favorite golf course in Las Vegas! Even with the wind though, the staff is pleasant and the grounds are maintained very nicely. Great course, check the forecast for wind first. It can ruin a round in a hurry.
Really liked it
I was paired up with a two other visitors and we had a good time. Course played fair except when the wind kicked up. Fairways in good shape - greens had been sanded not that log ago - it would have been nice to be informed before heading out. While a little bumpy they were still pretty fast though. The layout is great for my game and the scenery can not be beat (if you like desert courses) not a house for miles. I really enjoyed it and hope to go back to play the other two courses someday.
desert gem
This is a great course with first rate facilities. Green fees are fair for the quality of play. Lots of desert rough but the course plays well if you can keep it straight off the tee.
Very Nice Desert Course
Had heard good things about Paiute and was not disappointed. Day was a bit windy, but the course was in great shape and very picturesque. A nice challenge, but not unreasonably difficult. Staff was very friendly - a good day all around. Well worth the drive (20-30 minutes) from Vegas.
The best golf resort in Vegas. 3 Pete Dye courses that are well maintained
I will plan my next trip to Vegas around tee time availability at Paiute. We played the Wolf course the day before and the Sun course the previous year
I can not wait to play there again
Nice desert course
Played the Snow course on a "Hot Deal." The staff was nothing but friendly. Beautiful desert golf, especially the last few holes. It happened to be a very windy day with gusts of 40 MPH. I had tee shots of 205 and 350. That made scoring difficult but didn't diminish from the quality of the course. I didn't have any drinks or food, so that is the only reason for my rating on that. The quality for the price I payed is hard to beat. I will definitely try the other courses on my next visit.
Paiute Snow Mountain
Worth the 20 minute drive NW of the city. Course was in good shape. 3 eighteen hole courses at the resort (Snow, Sun, and Wolf) and I would return to try the other two. Only complaint I had is the wind, but it was a very windy week in Vegas so I dont know how it blows here on a normal day.
