Journey at Pechanga
About
Journey at Pechanga was built on the ancestral land of the Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians. The land is also home to "The Great Oak," one of the largest natural growing, indigenous coastal, live oak trees in the U.S. It is estimated to be anywhere from 850 to 1,500 years old. The golf course was carefully carved from the rolling hills that stretch Pechanga Creek to the surrounding mountains. Great care was taken in creating the course in order to preserve the beautiful land that has been home to the Pechanga Tribe for countless generations. Mature California oaks frame most of the holes and the dramatic elevations provide breathtaking views of Temecula Valley. The challenging layout will reward accurate shot-making but will punish any errant shots.

Recently aerated but greens were still in great condition. Course is coming out of winter mode but still doesn’t disappoint. I do love this course. However first time playing here since they changed #13 from the best par5 on the course to now just a pedestrian par4. #16 which was a perfect par4 reminiscent of Sawgrass #18 is now a short par5. I abhor these changes. Not sure what the reason was but I do hope that this change gets reversed. Please, please, please bring back #13 as a par5 and 16 as a par4. Highly disappointed with this change. As it was, the course was spectacular. Great practice facilities, great food at the halfway shack. But please, restore the original layout.
Highly recommend
I love a playable course with lots of risk reward and this course offered that in spades. I hope I get to play it again.
Challenging and Fun
Lots of hills and lofty shots to greens below. Greens fast and furious .... better to be short than long, as many have steep edges off the back and impossible to retrieve balls. Lots of variety with water and rough ...definitely play the forward two tees if you want to have fun!!!
Too bad
This is a great course. Too bad to see the fairways in this shape!
Love This Course
Beautiful condition, great facilities, great staff, challenging course layout! Highly recommend!
Disappointing
The fairways are dormant and the ruff is green?
The greens are spotted and slow.
Premium price for those conditions?
Not impressed at all
Disappointing
Been wanted to play here for a decade, finally made the drive and ponied up $160.
Nice layout, fair condition, some really nice views and tough holes. Just not what I was hoping for or expecting which was more. Sure at it’s prime once it was. Much better value and options close by for half the price.
Works great levels right up
Great course
Truly a Journey
Pechanga resort truly pulled out all the stops on this Amazing Journey through their back valley hillside. The course is groomed emaculately and plays very nice. The greens are extremely difficult however, there is No such thing as a gimmie put here. The staff is very friendly and helpful and makes the experience very enjoyable. I also got lunch at the snack shack which was tops at very reasonable prices. If you are in the area and have time for a round I Highly recommend you play here.
Nice but....
Nice course but overpriced. Underwhelming. No concessions available.
Outstanding Course!
Played well today. Gave condition a 4 rating only because I don’t like brown fairways. But in reality the color had no bearing on the great lies I had. If the color was green I would have given 5 stars. Green were very fair today. Medium speed. Bunkers were incredibly nice. First cut around the greens were near perfect conditions. I love this course. Highly recommend to anyone who loves quality golf.
