Journey at Pechanga
About
Journey at Pechanga was built on the ancestral land of the Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians. The land is also home to "The Great Oak," one of the largest natural growing, indigenous coastal, live oak trees in the U.S. It is estimated to be anywhere from 850 to 1,500 years old. The golf course was carefully carved from the rolling hills that stretch Pechanga Creek to the surrounding mountains. Great care was taken in creating the course in order to preserve the beautiful land that has been home to the Pechanga Tribe for countless generations. Mature California oaks frame most of the holes and the dramatic elevations provide breathtaking views of Temecula Valley. The challenging layout will reward accurate shot-making but will punish any errant shots.

Beautiful Day!
This was my first time playing at Journey and it is a beautifully challenging course. I can't wait to play again with friends. Everything is very well maintained and the staff is incredibly helpful. The only issue....I had two men behind purposfully hit into me twice. If I can see them....they could definitely see me. I'm a consistent and strong female golfer, but you can't go any faster than other golfers in front of you. I spoke with one of the course employees and it didn't happen again. Perfect end to a perfect day!
Always a pleasure to play. Course is in great shape. Be prepared for alot of wind between noon and 4. .
Hear alot of whining about a gimmick course this and that but for a player wanting a challengeing round to test your abilities this is the place. Roughbis thick greens fast. Fairways are a little wet right now but overall worth maybe a hundred to play.. enjoy the tee box layouts. Go to the cooper tee bax and it will test you, but the fwd tee boxes make it an enjoya6 round.
Great layout
Fortunate to have played alongSIDE someone who was familiar with the course layout...gave good advice. GPS on carts was also helpful having to deal with so many "blind shots. Greens were fast but true.
Let me nit pick this excellent course
You can't debate the quality of this course. It is in superb shape. Very difficult if you've never played it before. Ridiculous elevation changes.I mean RIDICULOUS! Insane slopes on greens. Blind shots or shots over/around trees or slopes if you're not in the proper spot on the fairway. Add some wind like we had today and you're going to be challenged. So since I can't criticize any part of the course let me nit pick. I now know why it is called Journey because you need to pack your camping gear to get between holes. I don't think that I'm exaggerating when I say that some of the drives between holes are a half mile or more. Even getting from tee box to the fairway can be a circuitous 1/4 mile adventure. It is truly a journey to navigate this course. Come on out and enjoy this excellent track. It is truly a beautiful course.
Believe the hype!
Such a sick course. If you get a chance to play, you have to. Hole after hole it kept getting better. Top notch facility. Practice facility is legit and attention to detail is evident. Can’t wait to get back
Spectacular Course - Spectacular Day
This is the best course I've played in the last year or so. And...I've played about 25 courses in the Inland Empire as well as Sedona and Reno. I LOVE this course but be prepared to be accurate or you will lose lots of balls. If you normally shoot over 100, I suggest you find an easier course. I usually shoot around 85 on most courses and I've now shot a 97 and a 92 here!
Immaculate conditions and awe inducing layout
First time playing and it lived up to all my expectations. I’m quite used to hill golfing in the Chino Hills and Corona area but Journey takes it to another level. The only other one that might compare was the old Champions Club before they closed. Great conditions. Luxury golf carts with enough juice to go up 500 ft hills Play this at least once in your life!
What a Journey
This course rightfully deserves it's 5-Star rating. Every aspect of a wonderful day of golf was experienced here. It was my first time playing Pechanga and I'll definitely return for another great experience.
From the time you walk on the property to the time you leave, the staff treats you like a member. Very well manicured facilities. Layout was challenging and fun.
Fairways and greens were lush and fast.
Thanks Journey for the exceptional time spent.
Outstanding
Tour quality conditions! Spectacular and challenging design. I played this course twice before when conditions were fair and some course construction going on. But NOW the course is simply one of the top courses in SoCal.
NOW I get it. This course is truly spectacular!
First time I've played this course and it was everything I'd heard about it...beautiful, meticulously maintained, spectacular views and layout and great staff...but also very difficult for an "average" golfer.
I typically shoot around 85 - 88 from the whites at most courses I play in the Inland Empire. Though I had a few more hacker type mistakes this day than usual, I had some really good shots as well. This course kicked my butt...I shot 97 with 4 lost balls. ! That's the highest score I've had in over a year!
HOWEVER, I loved the course so much that I can't wait to get back and see if I can get under 90!
1st time
I have played many top courses from La Quinta to Scottsdale to Kapalua. Journey might have been the nicest and most fun courses I have ever played.
Best Course in the Temecula Valley
Always love playing here. The price is right for how nice this course is. 2 of the holes have a view of the whole valley. Good photo spots. Fair warning this course is not for the beginner and good ball striking is a much. Bring some extra balls just in case...you might need em. Lots of elevations and ob areas. The practice areas are top notch and the staff is great. If you can afford it this is the place to play
Immaculate
Very impressive course. Excellent conditions. Only one gimmicky hole.
No complaints whatsoever.
Incredibly slow
Got a hot deal for $67. But, we tee’d off 40 minutes passed our paid for tee time due to an incredibly slow tournament in the morning that extended beyond 2 pm. There were several groups ahead of us at our scheduled tee time and you’d think they were playing for life or death especially on the greens. Despite getting on the greens 3-4 shots or more over regulation, they lined up putts like Camillo Villegas! Only got nine holes in before dark after playing those nine in over three hours.
Great Course
This is a first rate course. It has a combination of Very challenging holes and others that are fairly easy. I would love to play this course again. The best course I've played in years. If you are near this course take time to play it , you won't be disappointed. Practice area are in perfect condition also. This a real gem.
Great course
2 holes under repair, but otherwise a beautiful course. Will definitely play again.
