Journey at Pechanga
About
Journey at Pechanga was built on the ancestral land of the Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians. The land is also home to "The Great Oak," one of the largest natural growing, indigenous coastal, live oak trees in the U.S. It is estimated to be anywhere from 850 to 1,500 years old. The golf course was carefully carved from the rolling hills that stretch Pechanga Creek to the surrounding mountains. Great care was taken in creating the course in order to preserve the beautiful land that has been home to the Pechanga Tribe for countless generations. Mature California oaks frame most of the holes and the dramatic elevations provide breathtaking views of Temecula Valley. The challenging layout will reward accurate shot-making but will punish any errant shots.

Great course
Best course in San Diego area.
I loved everything in this golf course from tee box, fairway, bunker and green as well as its layout except my score(it is really challenging).
Moreover all the staff are great. You will love this place.
Nice track nice place
The course has reopened in beautiful condition the greens are fast the fairways are nice and fluffy tee boxes are good the staff is excellent only problem was the driving range was closed and there was a tournament in front of us which made a three hour front nine we did finish everything worked out
AWESOME DAY
My brothers and I played on z beautiful day in CALI . The course was in great shape and the views on the course were amazing!!
Great Place
Take a Journey and Visit this Golf Course. The facility is in really fantastic shape. The course is a blast to play and the views are wonderful.
Great Round , missed #6 but will be back!
Had a good time today. Hole 6 which looks to be everyone’s favorite was under repair and shortened to a par 3. It happens and I knew about it going in so all good. My only complaint and I know I’m probably becoming alone on this..but why put music in the carts??? I’ve never played with music on the course and today I had to deal with it on several shots. It really messes with my swing rhythm. I much prefer the sounds of wildlife and streams in the background when I’m on the golf course. I had 2 hours in traffic getting there and had plenty of time to listen to tunes then. Oh well , call me a grump, or too old school, but I really see no place for music on the golf course.
Outside of that this place is amazing. I look forward to playing it again and bringing a little more of my game then I did today . I also want to warn you about the greens. They are tricky as heck. Right to left “looking” putts will sometimes go left to right! Look at them from both sides:-)
A true Journey
A true golf experience, and journey, through the Temecula mountains. Awesome cart rides winding through trees, canyons, hills, numerous bridges, and even two rivers. This is a true golf Journey!
Fairly strict target golf on half the course. The other half you can rip driver and be ok. I’m a huge fan of drive-able par 4’s and this course has nearly 4 of them! Including the 6th, which was 411yd today from the white tees. Get a lucky line on that 200ft drop, and you can nearly be on the green! (Gotta get the lucky bounce). Holes 5,10,12 are all drive-able depending on the wind.
I’d definitely say the course plays slightly shorter than the scorecard reads. Numerous down hill shots/drives. 7 holes played downhill, 30ft-200ft. Par 5’s were pretty strong. Greens were firm and fast. Had trouble holding chip shots, but that’s my game, not yours.
Practice facility is great! Two chipping greens, huge putting green, including another next to the first tee. Numerous targets on the range. Definitely take advantage!
Can’t wait to come back! 10/10
Awesome track
The course was in great condition the greens were fast and don’t hold very well but other than that everything was perfect the staff is great almost overly friendly will come back again for sure
The Bomb
Excellent course and always in great shape. They have the best golf carts anywhere..Great staff and always helpful..Tough the first time you play but wiil know where to place shot on second round. If your a whimp and don't like a challenge then don't play it .It is not like an east course like Encinitas ranch. You have to think and challenges your shot skills!!!
Journey at Pechanga
The course was in great shape even with all the recent heat. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly, making the journey from Orange County much more enjoyable. See you again soon!
Cheers
Always as expected
Great course condition and excellent layout, very challenging and enjoyable nonetheless
Always a pleasure to play here as expected
First timer I loved it
Amazing course that was in perfect condition. I read some reviews about long wait times but I played in about 3.5 hours so that clearly wasn’t the case for me. If you live anywhere in so cal it’s a must play.
Breathtaking Views
This was my first time here as it typically priced out of my budget. The only bummer is that it was 104* but the course did everything they could to make it enjoyable with towels soaked in ice when you picked up the cart.
The greens were about 4 weeks post punching and were okay as they putted well but still had noticable punch mark holes. The layout was fun and interesting.
There were quite a few short holes where course knowledge would have helped. The 6th and 18th holes had 100-200' drops from tee box to fairway which made picking your sight lines interesting.
Ask for a yardage book as they offer for free. Get there early to take advantage of their great practice facility with a nice short game area and matted driving range.
Pleasantly Surprised
My wife, mother, and sister decided to get a massage at Pechanga on Christmas Eve. Fine by me, as I could squeeze a round of golf in.
$64 for a twilight rate? Not too bad. Well, I was in for a nice surprise as this course was right up there with courses that I've paid twice as much for.
Endless beautiful scenery nestled in the shadows of some mountains, Pechanga continued to impress me with a variety of hole layouts and challenges. This is definitely a course to map out your shots in advance.
Mountain tops, canyons, running streams, wildlife, and a beautiful background make this course memorable.
My only complaint would be the pace of play. Every hole I had to wait on the foursome in front of me to tee off, but apparently they had to do the same. Oh well, it's Christmas Eve, right?
Looking forward to playing here again.
Journey is Fantastic
Have played Journey at Pechanga several times, every time is an experience views are fantastic, the course is in pristine condition and you will always remember the view from the 6th hole.
Scott Mallory the director of golf and his staff do a great job, they are friendly and accommodating. The restaurant at the clubhouse is one of my favorites for Sunday Brunch.
A Real Journey
A really different course! The first few holes are relatively simple, then comes the journey, round the water, up the hill, down the hill etc. etc. Be prepared to lose a few balls and grow few grey hairs, but have fun. The only drawbacks is that the many long drives between greens and tees makes for a 5 hour round, which is expected apparently.
Would love to play again when we are in the area and can get a reasonable deal.
Let’s speed things up...
I play this course multiple times a year.
Great layout. One of the best in all SoCal. The greens were rolling great this week and the fairways are in decent shape.
The ice of play this week was appalling. This is a premium course and it took us 5 hours 16 minutes to play. I have no idea how they stacked us all up and let us out.
They need to get this figured out or we won’t be back.
And come on, you let out fivesommes. Let’s get real.
When you play quick here it’s a pleasure.
Orange county four
I have played pechanga about five times. Each time it looks more amazing than the last time. Took my brother and a friend from our mens club. The friend just could not get over that we played the special twilite rate of 64 bucks. He left with such a wonderful experience keep saying that only pros should play this course. Wants to do it all over again. As for me i trully give this place a five star i love the challenge. Recommended to all golfers as must. Staff is great. Lou
