Journey at Pechanga
About
Journey at Pechanga was built on the ancestral land of the Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians. The land is also home to "The Great Oak," one of the largest natural growing, indigenous coastal, live oak trees in the U.S. It is estimated to be anywhere from 850 to 1,500 years old. The golf course was carefully carved from the rolling hills that stretch Pechanga Creek to the surrounding mountains. Great care was taken in creating the course in order to preserve the beautiful land that has been home to the Pechanga Tribe for countless generations. Mature California oaks frame most of the holes and the dramatic elevations provide breathtaking views of Temecula Valley. The challenging layout will reward accurate shot-making but will punish any errant shots.

Pace of Play
Course was awesome, although we booked in advance knowing weather would be good and it was really windy. That’s the problem when you book in advance and pay in advance. You don’t get to cancel or get a refund. The pace of play in the afternoon was bad. Took 2 and a half hours to play 9. No marshals on the course. We left at the turn.
Awesome course with amazing views
This was my first time playing Journey at Pechanga and I was very impressed. The views were amazing and the course conditions were excellent. The fairways and greens were immaculate. The bunkers have plenty of white soft sands. The course is very challenging and definitely not for beginners. I would highly recommend this course. It's much nicer than Pelican Hills and Monarch Beach and less than half the price. Journey is now my favorite course and I will definitely be coming back.
Slow round
The course is in great shape, layout is excellent, a lot of fun to play, but, the course needs to put Marshalls on the course to keep the pace of play going. A 5 1/2 round is not acceptable. Would have spoken to someone in the pro shop but it was all closed when we got done.
Slow play but great course
It’s been a while since I’ve played Journey probably because of the price, but I bit the bullet and played. While play was slow the course was in good condition and absolutely worth the price. I would say that if you’re playing during winter hours if you can get out before 12:30 then you’ll probably finish if not, well enjoy the game
Great Course
Fun course to play. Beautiful scenery. Better bring your “A” game for this one!
Gorgeous course
Course in great condition. I noticed that maintenance is working on fairway spots throughout the course. New grass from a previous visit was grown in and really nice. I trust the same with this type of maint. work. Everything was very well later out from tee boxes to Green's.
Enjoyed my round. The starter was nice and accommodating. He took care of everything with professionalism. Can't wait to return.
Great Golf Course
The best golf course anywhere in the Riverside county I have ever played this year
TOO SLOW
Everyone has to analyze each others putt. They allow players to wait for the group ahead to leave the green, before the next group tee's off. No on course Marshall's--ANYWHERE.
Just this stupid notice on the gps, that we are 30 minutes behind, even though all we're doing is WAITING.
Extremely frustrating. The also allow sets of Five players out--in front of us.
Great, not cheap course--I have had enough.
Beautiful course and challenging layout!
It was very wet due to rain previous and was cart path only but this was one of the most beautiful courses I have ever golfed.A number of holes are across ravines or elevated and very challenging but exciting to golf.
Staff were excellent, friendly and the Resort property is beautiful.
I highly recommend both golf and accommodation at Pachenga Resort!
Great course
Second time playing here. Completely different conditions. First time I played it was summer and conditions were hot and the course was dry. This time with all the rain we’ve had the course was very wet and muddy. Cart path only. There is construction on #16 par 4, temporary tees makes it about 195 for all sets of tees.
The rough is fairly thick and we had a lot of plugged lies. Playing partner lost a ball on 18 which is hit from an elevated tee box, ball plugged in the fairway and we couldn’t find it.
Greens were in great shape and rolled true all day.
One of the players in our foursome had a hole in one on 15!!!
Group in front was very very slow and no one is out there to speed the pace up. We waited on every hole for them.
Bunkers are well maintained and just the right amount of sand.
Carts are fun to drive and have a built in stereo with streaming music.
Looking forward to playing it again.
Pechenga
Definitely worth the 1 1/2 hours to get here. I rated course conditions as good, because the course was extremely wet on several holes but still playable. It has great views and is fun to play.
Play this course.
Great views, many elevation changes. Even after a recent deluge of rain, the course was in excellent shape.
Our group traveled 90 minutes for this event and it was completely worth it. We typically play the great courses in the Coachella Valley but Pechanga proved to be just as nice, just as challenging and a good value. Can't wait to get back.
Great Track/Horrendous Service
First off stunningly gorgeous course in immaculate shape! However, we booked through Golf Pass/Golf Now and when we got there, it was pouring down rain. The guy at the pro shop said that they wouldn't give us `a rain check and that they weren't closing the course , so we couldn't get a refund from GOLF Now. So. We started playing and the rain continued raining harder. Couldn't hold the golf clubs it was so wet, water pooling on some of the greens, so you couldn't put, sand traps had standing water. After 8 holes we were drenched, cold, and the rain was coming harder. So, we gave up and went back to the pro shop. The guy at the pro shop said tough luck, no rain checks, or refunds.. wasn't the level of customer service you would expect at a high end course. Every course I have ever played at would have not sent you out in those conditions and would have given you a rain check. To bad, it was a gorgeous course, or so it appeared through the sheets of rain!! Very disappointing!!!
Amazing Views
First time played this course and was joined up with another gentleman who played it before who gave me some tips on where to play the ball on certain holes. Course was in immaculate condition and really enjoyed the challenge. The holes with the high elevations were amazing. The wow factor was high! We stayed at the new resort hotel which was also amazing, everyone who worked there were very friendly and helpful.
Fun time
Classy track, great greens. Staff was amazing. Great experience
