Snow Mountain at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort
About
There are three championship courses at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort, all of which were designed by Pete Dye. Snow Mountain is the original course, joined by Sun Mountain, which is considered the easiest of the three, and Wolf is the newest and most challenging.
At over 7,600 yards, Wolf is also the longest course in Nevada but Snow Mountain is quite lengthy as well at 7,146 yards. Dye incorporated his signature railroad-tie bunkers and water comes into play on seven holes. This risk-reward layout is known for having the best par-3s at the resort. One of these is the stunning 16th hole with its panoramic view of Sheep Mountain. It requires a long carry over water but the bailout area to the right provides a relatively easy up and down and the greenside bunkers don't usually come into play.
Also known as Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort - Nu-Wav-Kaiv Course.

The third, par-5, 557: For those who don’t drive it 300 yards, the fairway’s left side is the more favorable lay-up zone: it best opens up the green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/18/2025

The fifth is a long and challenging par-4 of 458, but it’s also fair from tee to cup. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/18/2025

Your tee shot will cross the desert at the par-3 eighth. Running the ball onto the green is dangerous; the ball tends to bounce left/downhill, leaving a difficult pitch. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/18/2025

To drive this 356-yard par-4, your tee shot should cut the corner—across the desert. A great risk/reward hole. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 12/18/2025

Windy but great golf
The winds were expected after reading numerous reviews. Course was in very nice condition for February. Fairways were green and offered extra yardage with long rolls. Greens were in great shape, albeit hard and a bit quick but not difficult. The wind was probably the biggest obstacle where on many holes it will literally knock your drive down or push it clear across the fairway. Picture window dining area overlooks the 18th green and showcases a beautiful view of the mountains. Looking forward to trying Sun Mtn. or the Wolf next time.
Challenging but fair.
This marked the second time I played a Paiute course, and I'll keep coming back everytime I visit Vegas from here on out. The course is challenging but fair for an high handicapper such as myself. Conditions were great, pace was terrific for a Saturday afternoon, and the staff could not have been more accommodating.
Fabulous facility, great courses and friendly staff
This is a great golf facility and I can't wait to play the other two courses. It is well worth the drive and the scenery can't be beat!
Great Coonditions, fun to play. A lot of dog-legs
En joyed the course, it is out in the desert away from everything. It is usually windy.
Beauty and the Beast
This Course offers great golf and great oppportunity! As long as you hit the fairways and the wind is manageable it sets up to play some great shots; but if you can't keep it on the green grass or the wind gets stiff it will knock your teeth out. Ideal for mid to low handicappers. I would not attempt as a beginner. Loved the challenge of layout with water inter-mixed. Greens were speedy and smooth.
This course was very challenging with the wind
Had a great time and it was very cold thought with the wind coming through the valley.
Picturesque, great view of mountains
Played the course under overcast conditions. Rained for first 9 holes, then remained cloudy. Challenging course for all levels. Must keep the ball in the fairway. Several water holes. Great value for the money.January
Great layout
Service was tremendous.... Carts were fast and newer, with GPS. Three courses to choose from. When you drive there you think you GPS is broken since you are in the middle of nowhere, but keep going. Did not see a building or house from anywhere on the course.....
Great Course!!
This is a great course. It's challenging but very playable. Play this course if get the chance!
Nice Course well kept
Enjoyed the course, plenty of challege for amateurs/hackers like me. If not for the wind, and from what we heard this was a "calm" day, I think it would have been perfect. Of course, I never would have made my first eagle on a 290yd par 4 without a wind-assisted drive that put me about 6 feet from the pin! Overall a great time.
Nice layout.
Another excellent experience at Paiute. We got caught behind 2 groups of real slow hacks at the turn and the course was accommodating enough to allow us to switch to a nine that was open (it was a slow day due to the windy conditions).
A marshal was extremely helpful in finding and returning a new Cleveland 60 degree to my playing partner.
Very nice facility great golf course.
Straight forward course with good selection of tee's - 5000 to 7000 yards. Fast greens in good shape
Try it, worth the drive.
Great price, amazing conditions for the time of year. We returned a couple of days later to try the Sun Mountain Course after playing another local track that wasn't quite up to this quality level (and was more expensive).
The tips are amazingly long....the regular tees provide a great course for the average golfer as long as you don't stray too far off center.
We'll be back.
Extraordinary Course
I have played at Paiute for over ten years, going two to four times per year and playing two days each time. Usually I will also play a third day at a different course and each time i wish that I had just gone back to Paiute and hadn't bothered trying another course. The course is fair, but makes you hit your shots and keep it straight. There is wind most days but that just adds to the course. If you have problems with wind or or not hitting it straight, keep to a course which is protected and has wide fairways and lots of open rough on each side. Cannot beat the views, the clubhouse and restaurant are fabulous and the people could not be better.
Great course!
This course was great! The staff was friendly & attentive. Tee boxes nice, the greens were rolling good. Pace of play was awesome. It was a great day!!
A surreal desert experience!
THE EXPERIENCE
The sun starts to settle as the coyotes call one another for the hunt. A chill rolls in like a foggy dream as the mystique of wilderness breaks your thought while your eyes stare at the harsh but calming landscape set on fire by the blazing sunset. Then you awaken and realize you have 215 over water to a pin tight back right.
THE MASTER
THIS is the setting for the 3 Paiute Pete Dye golf masterpieces set about 12 miles north of the strip. Golf in many locations is a walk with nature but here at Paiute you are not only walking with the desert, you are a part of it.
The golf courses are so well designed into the landscape that not one hole can be seen from the highway nor the highway be seen from the holes, Only the clubhouse sets above the plane and can be seen from the highway. So much thought went into NOT spoiling the landscape that once you get to the exit you start thinking you made a wrong turn somewhere because I don't see anything that indicates there is a golf course there especially 3 of them.
THE COURSE
Anyway, my wife and I played the Snow course and right from the first tee comparing it to its neighbor the Wolf course that we played the first trip out there. I don't know what to say because both courses give you so many choices while managing your game. Wide fairways and tricky approach shots are the norm. The Snow course just eats your lunch for a poorly placed tee shot. Wide landing area but your shot better hit on the correct angle for the approach or a yawning bunker or grass pot is waiting protecting a flag in the narrows. It really is hard to pay attention to your game because of the stunning scenery but when you do and hit it sweet you're gonna stick some pins. Well my wife did anyway. Trust me the quality of the experience will up your game to another level. Oh by the way no island greens on the Snow course like the Wolf has. If your looking for a slope rating in the clouds with major penalties for errors this is not your track. If you want a respectable slope with a track that still keeps you thinking but doesn't ruin your day for a few misses. This is the one for you.
CONDITION
Sorry but for a desert experience it don't get no better. The fairways are impeccable as well as the tees. The first thing I noticed about the tees on the Snow course (yes the Wolf too) is that they are flat. I mean there is nothing worse than trying to find even footing for your tee shot right? Well don't worry here. The tees are like a pool table. Don't even search for footing. Just put your ball down and its a sure thing you will be in heaven.
GREENS
My only complaint is the greens were a bit bumpy. Not a lot just a little but enough to jerk it right or jerk it left here and there which became annoying. Maybe they were dressed a short time ago with a bit of time left in the recovery but still fast enough to make it nice taking the bite out of the occasional military roll.
FACILITIES
Two driving ranges that are absolutely fantastic. Good balls and good flat even grass to hit from. Enough said!
BOTTOM LINE
You're going to like this place I guarantee it!

Great course, well worthe the money
Great course, well worth the money. Staff was extremely friendly. Course was in excellent condition and well maintained. The only negative for me was the pace of play. I did not see a Marshall on the course monitoring the pace which I think would have helped but overall it was a good value for the money.
A great course and worth the drive away from the strip.
The greens were firm and fast with subtle undulation. The fairways were in excellent condition.
Super nice people nice course little ways out of town but worth the trip.
My wife and I played little late in year so we should of started a little earlier, but super nice staff and had a great day. Course was a challenge but offered tees to fit. My wife played the course no problem even though she plays very little. thx.
I'am spoiled. This is my home course.
Always great condition, and friendly service! Very scenic and away from city distractions. Year round play!
