Sun Mountain at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort

This is the only golf complex for miles. It far enough away from the road that it is out of sight and mind. The view is vast and beautiful. the course condition is fantastic. The marshal was a little delayed when tending to a very slow group.

Do I need to say more? ...Best in Vegas by far!... Always in perfect condition!...its a gem! Highly recommend all three courses with The Wolf being the hardest!

Paiute is a great facility. There are 3 18s. We played Sun Mountain. It was in great shape. Was challenging but not punishing. Couldn't have asked for a nicer day. If the wind isn't coming out of the North, it's always a joy to play Paiute.

On average, I'll visit Las Vegas 8-10 times a year because of work and family, and like clock work, this is one of the courses that I'll visit. Why you ask? Simply put, the condition of the course(s), the pace of play, and professionalism of the staff. On top of that, from time to time you can get a good deal on Golfnow. As far as the difficulty of the course, I would say the 3 course's are "fair" to say the least. In the afternoon, the wind can pick up and the courses can become a bit more challenging because of it. As far as the pace of play, I've never had a round last more than 4 hours. More often than not, I'll finish early and practice a bit more after the round. Though it's far from the strip, it feels like I'm at a country club. Never had a bad experience at Paiute and hopefully it stays that way. A must play while in LV for sure.

It was a cold day but i enjoyed the round non the less. The course is in excellent condition. There's plenty of chance to encounter wild life. Course layout is not particularly difficult but the desert wind definitely makes challenging.

We played at Sun Mountain Course on Dec. 5 . It was very cold day. But snow cap mountain and beautiful scenery made us cheerful. The course was well-maintained. Green was fast.

Played on Dec 1st. Perfect condition. One of the best I have played regarding perfect fairways and greens. Very fast greens make this course challenging. Had a great experience overall.

Was very impressed with the condition of the Sun course after the floods. It really is in fantastic condition!

Golf Course is great. Too bad the staff acts like a bunch of guys who don't like their job.

I drove to the course but was unable to play it. However, I learned three things that you may want to consider.

1. There was a major flood in the summer that severely damaged the three courses. Each was closed for repair & restoration. Wolf remains closed to rebuild the island green.

2. This is a remote desert location. There is NOTHING here but golf courses & clubhouse. In discussion with staff & members on site, I learned weather can be significantly different here as contrasted with the Strip. Temp is probably 10+ degrees cooler. Wind blows more often & with greater intensity (20-30 mph). Suggestion: call the course b/f you book your tee time to discuss wind conditions. For example, yesterday, golfers were clothed in ski caps & multiple layers to fight off wind chill from combined effect of reduced temperature & significant wind. In contrast, tourists were walking comfortably without coats on the Strip.

3. These appear to be superior golf courses. Due to isolated location, there is nothing taller than 5 feet (abundant cacti) surrounding the course.

Simply stated, awesome course. If you are in the area, this is a course you need to play. Greens and fairways -- superb. The course is carved into the desert terrain at the base if the mountains. Every hole was a work of art and offers a challenge for any level golfer. A must play if you are in the Vegas area. Only 25 minutes from the strip.

Fabulous conditions and greens were superb...probably running a 12. Great fairway turf but sand was a bit thin. Pace of play was an issue until our 3-some went thru a slow 4-some at the turn. No Marshalls in site and when we finished told Marshalls that group was 4 holes behind us slowing up entire track.

Pro shop staff not very cordial, outside of pro shop everyone was super. Course very nice, but play was extremely slow.

All of the Paiute courses are a good experience every time. I think Sun is the toughest of the three. All three have bunkers, but many more of the bunkers on Sun are in play for good players. And the last hole, with a small green and water all the way down the left, is brutal when it plays into the prevailing wind.

From the driving range throughout the course the conditions were great.

I had been told that all three courses at Paiute are great and they were right, at least with the Sun Course. It's a fair drive from the strip (solid 30+ min) but that's what's so great about it. You are away from the city, in the middle of the desert with incredible mountain views. It's really a nice getaway from the glitz of the strip. The course was in great shape. Tough layout, quite challenging, greens rolled true and fairly fast. Not tour fast but fast enough for non-tournament play. Just fast enough to make you nervous. The different tee sets really do offer a nice difference for various levels of golfers. Beautiful clubhouse and very friendly staff.

One of my buddies had his clubs shipped to the course and they are sitting waiting for him upon arrival. When we left they said they would take care of everything for him and they arrived back at his house safely. Another guy rented and really liked the TaylorMade RBZs. Sweet driver.

Only one word comes to mind for this Golf Facility
SPECTACULAR. The condition of the course was much better than anything I have played close to the Las Vegas Strip.. It was an easy drive out rt. 95. The staff were very professional and offered advise when asked. The clubhouse was beautiful, well designed,the food was tasty and the servce was great. I like to play new courses every time I travel to Vegas, but with three differnt courses here,I think I have to look no further for a great Vegas golf
experience.

however, the back nine was pretty much the same same as the front nine, i think...

By far the best course we played in five days of golf in Vegas.
